I woke up super early on a work day in order to download it at the earliest opportunity here in the UK and I was dancing around in my pjs while making my breakfast, all the while with a massive grin on my face. This ablum is just so good.

Only got to listen to half of it before heading to work and listened to the other half on my ipod on a long walk in the evening, which was just glorious.

The ones that stood out to me were:

Omga The Pulls!!!

This one I loved most of all. I’ve always adored Sam’s voice with SPG as well as his own stuff through samhears, but this took that appreciation to a new place.

After all the laser and electronic sounds there was this wee dream-like gem of a tune with all the old time charm of a song on the gramophone (my mother’s words, though I do agree with her) and I couldn’t help but think of Hatchworth serenading some wee lady bot…or maybe a tv, you never know ha ha^-^

This album had so much hype, and it did not disappoint! There’s so much to listen to on both of these albums, and all the members (including Steve!) have put all of their huge robotic hearts into it. So different to everything they’ve put out before, but it’s so nice to have a blast of familiarity from ‘Fire, Fire’, and to see how it’s been incorporated into the story.

As a massive SPG fan, I was a bit concerned when they announced they would be doing a musical style album. But I am totally convinced that this was the right decision for them because it is glorious! I not only bought a digital copy but a physical copy as well because I love it that much. Honestly the best work to date :)

Steam Powered Giraffe have really out done themselves. Being a fan of their previous work, I couldn't wait for the release of their newest 2 disc album and they don't disapoint. One might think that with so many songs, the quality may have been sacrificed for quantity but that's far from the case. Each song is mesmerizing in it's own right and even after 28 songs, you still want to hear more !

This isn't just music it's a whole story, it is art.
