Every song is a classic, Giles Martin’s new remixes sound better than ever! As for the person who said The Beatles are the one direction of the 60’s, get a life! As for the person who said The Beatles trying to keep up with Elvis, The Beatles have sold more music than Elvis, and Elvis released this his number 1 album after The Beatles to cash in on the success they had with this album in the 1st place!

When Alan was asked what his favourite Beatles album was, he answered "it's got to be The Best Of The Beatles!" Well here it is! Sublime!

iTunes have released this new version while doing away with the old one. This means I can no longer add songs to the version I have. I would have to buy the songs I already have again to avoid new purchases being spread across different albums. This has happened on a few albums I've gone back to for more songs.

This is the album of the Beatles best hits. It's music that inspired music today and timeless. The songs now still get me going to party and I'm 23. This is what radio is missing, real music and this is real music. Greatest album I've ever bought and worth the money ❤️

yes Giles et al have centred the vocals, but the real mixes were done by his dad and the band in mono and are still stunning and better than these remixes. I would love to have true stereo mixes of these songs but impossible due to the masters only existing in bounced 4 channel tapes. In the case of the beatles there is one perfect release still available and thats the mono box set, which is staggering in its sound quality. Hopefully will appear on apple music soon so everyone can hear the songs as they were intended

... of something BIG! This brilliant remix demands that the whole catalogue now be given the same treatment. Just compared a few tracks between this and those on the original "1". It shows up the latter as being quite flat and somewhat unfocused. Time to do the same with the whole back catalogue Giles.

The 60's Take That are back with reissue no 78 Lol. Fans can expect the usual dross with gems like yellow submarine and I am the walrus . Can't wait for Beatles fans to eulogise over genius drug induced lyrics again (Zzzzzz)

VERY well put together album of the Beatles greatest well mixed Great Sound and Great songs
But isn't it funny it comes on the heels of the No1 recent album by Elvis Presley IF ICAN DREAM which also done at Abbey Road also has The Vocal remixed and more upfront
Just another try at trying to keep up with Elvis I think

It's hard to believe that some plonker compared these to one direction, fantastic rework, will be playing this for a long time. We owe this band a lot, otherwise we would have to put up with modern trash. Buy and enjoy, would like to see some other beatles material given the same treatment.

Wow!

Fantastic remix of 'The Long and Winding Road'. I wonder if Paul's beginning to warm to this version. Would be great one day for 'Across the Universe' [ Spector version] to have the same remix done.

Really really good album !!!!

I'm 30 years old and really like the Beatles music:). The newer versions sound so much better to the studio ones.
Only one idiot gave it one star because apparently they think that it's dead horse music. Must be a One Direction fan !!! (Sigh)

£8.99 for the 27 greatest 'pop' singles ever made! How is it that each of those just gets better as the years since their making pass? Listen to Penny Lane and try to find a moment, a note, a musical idea, that is less than perfect. You can't. If you don't like the Beatles, you don't like music.

Listening to George Martin's Love Album and then The Beatles 1 Album in my car shows how weak the dynamic sound of 1 is compared to Love. This album was well overdue for a re-mix. Pity that the whole back catalogue still hasn't received the same treatment.

I Feel Fine just rolls along so briliantly thanks to finally hearing Ringos drum and rhythm. Penny Lane stands out to me as being well worth the remix treatment, so much so, that I would love to hear a new remix of the whole Sgt. Pepper album!

This is a great album and the remastered versions really add something to a Beatles collection that would include most of these songs anyway. However, where is the version with the videos? Will hold out and get that on Blu-Ray if it's not going to be offered on iTunes. Disappointed!

Fantastic sounding remixes. It's a joy to hear some of these songs with vocals moved to the centre. Paperback Writer easily benefits from this the most. The song now has a drive and power that the original stereo mix sorely lacked.
Hopefully this album will pave the way to the entire catalog being remixed, where possible (probably A Hard Days Night onwards).
I would highly recommend a re-purchase ...you can throw out the old one!

Amazing story and journey.

Which nugget gave The Beatles one star ? I love music with a passion I'm also very eclectic with my music tastes,But in the great history of music The Beatles contribution cannot be underedtimated, there is Blues,Rock N Roll,Soul,Heavy Metal,Punk,Electronic,Dance,Whatever Genre one feels to name,The Beatles are very important in that picture. So in the time scale they were together it is amazing the output of work they delivered. The Beatles 1

This is a new version of the 1 album. The original album used the stereo mixes put together in the 1960s, often regarded as being inferior to the mono mixes created at the same time.
This new version of 1 has new stereo mixes created by Giles Martin, son of the original Beatles producer George. And what a result! Vocals are centred; check out the sample for Eleanor Rigby - the original 1960s stereo mix had Paul’s vocal on the hard left channel. Giles Martin’s new mix has him (front and) centre. Then listen to We Can Work It Out and listen to how distinct and easy to follow Paul’s bass in.
This clarity and skilfully mixed stereo is repeatedly throughout the album (barring the opening tracks in mono). For newcomers this is an awesome intro to the band. For those of us who saw the light years ago, here’s a chance to listen with a new perspective to familiar material.
