What is the point of doing a "live" album where only Cloudbusting actually sounds live?

It's a truly bizarre creative decision. What was Kate and the producers thinking?

Pure pure class.... the most iconic and original female artist in music.

I so wanted to see this show , I’ve adored Kate for decades - if you want to be blown away then buy this! The Ninth Wave segment will hit you with one emotion after the next , Hello Earth with all its power and majesty will simply floor you and I defy you not to get teary by The Morning Fog - just an amazing piece which you either get or you don’t and you have to listen to disc 2 in its entirety. KOTM will pummel you to pieces yet she still throws beautiful ballads at you in the next breath! Savour this , we probably won’t see or hear her live on stage again and this proves she is the greatest female singer/performer/writer of all time!

As so often with live recording, this one disappoints due to the poor sound balance. This is supposed to be Kate Bush but the accompanying band washes her away. I would want to hear Kate accompanied by the band not the other waay around. I am not the only one to comment on this and to have been put off buying the album . . . gutted, it is nothing like the live show!

Been a Kate Bush fan for a long time. I really wanted to see her live in London, but sadly didn't get any tickets. But this makes up for it! Kate's live vocal performances are amazing. A blend of old and new tracks which is welcome. One of her best albums in more recent years. Absolutely love it!

It's a stunning album and I wouldn't expect any less from Miss Bush. Each track is mixed and mastered to perfection. Love it and I'm sure I will do for years to come.

As good as the visuals were it sounded even better ! The best sound I've heard at any show.

This album represents that well.

Act 2 and act 3 are 5 stars.

Absolutely incredible

I was there at the opening night on the 26th August 2014 at the worldwide acclaimed Before the Dawn by Kate Bush. I thought it ws all a dream and now i started again to dream when BTD had been finally released on the 25th November 2016. The download audio on i-tunes is fantastic and it gives me great memories of the night, from the time walked into the stage Kate had a standing ovation and throuhout the concert it never really stopped, people clapping, cheering, standing up it was a journey into her world.

This audio recording is the extraordinary result of her legacy and as a choice Kate made to enhanced the music the clapping and cheering sometimes have been fadingout especially during the act 2 and act 3 where she wanted to present a truly theatrical piece rather than a gig and so Kate did with this superb result.The music here is amazing, reworked tracks enhanced which came to life superbly. The highlight is 'Never be mine' which had been rehearsed but not included in the playlist due to time constraint with the result it did not made the final set list. The live version of king of the mountain has been enriched with more vocals and extended music which is the spin off for act 2 Ninth Wave.There is a lot to say about this show if you see it you will know what you expect if you have not been to any of the venue this is the second best thing and I suggest you should by it as this audio show is already LEGENDARY. There is a lot of theatricality involved here and apart from the 6 sets of songs on act 1 this is more of high standard theater piece of art rather than a gig. Thank you so much Kate and thank you to the TK fellowship for this pre-Christmas gift. The band sound incredible the music is second to noone and the vocalists did a great job, if I could i would give 10/10 but 5 start is ok I suppose.

As stated everywhere this is her first live performance for 35 years and wow it's outstanding from start to finish. My favourite part is act three due to the fact it's the whole side two of the Aerial album and it seemlessly takes you on a glorious journey through the progressive nature of her poetry and musical brain. You'll not be disappointed by this album.

she is OVERREATED

Despite trying very hard to get tickets, I couldn't, I cried about it! (Grr to those who went more than once....) however, this is the next best thing and I've been waiting for it since I missed out on seeing Kate.

Beautiful album and so many of my favourite songs. Notable ones - King of the Mountain, Never Be Mine, Under Ice, Sunset and my all time best -Nocturn. Love, love, love.

If you're going to buy only one of Kate Bush's albums let it be this one.

Kate still at her best

Just amazing...

Wow - fans will love this, great tunes revamped to a certain extent to be subtly different from her studio albums. Suprised there has never been a live album before now! Her voice is amazing still. A worthy addition to anybodys collection.

I was one of the lucky ones, so listening to this today is bringing back memories of all the incredible stage visuals which I thought I had forgotten since the show. It really was amazing.... That said, just listen to Among Angels... no theatricals, just Kate sat alone at the piano - totally spellbinding and THAT voice.... wow. And such a gracious and jolly nice woman too!!

Not simply an album, this is an event.

Aurally and visually spectacular, Kate's residency marks a key point in her singular career - the release of her first official live album recording. And, like the show itself, it was worth waiting for. This is superb.

If you attended any of Kate's shows, you'll immediately realise after hearing just the first track that something is wrong with this 'live' album. Very wrong. I saw it twice, once on the first night and again on 16 September 2014. I've also heard every pirate, seen every sneakily made iPhone video. There is no doubt in my mind that is a recording of a performance made without the public present, with applause and painful 'chat' added in post-production. Fake as hell. This 'live' album is profoundly disappointing. 2 stars to acknowledge the superb band.

Brilliant !!!!

I was lucky enough to see this show twice and I am a big fan. This album is long overdue but worth the wait to recreate the show and freshen my memories. Amazing opening in particular with "Lily."

It took 35 years for her to return to the live stage. Worth the slight wait.

Out there somewhere is a video of this - but don't be disappointed - her music has always caught stride in your mind, not your eye. Close your eyes and enjoy the pictures. X

Happy birthday to me

Wasn't lucky enough to see her Hammersmith shows......really looking forward to the release of this album to make up for some of the magic I missed.

And dream of sheep is sublime.

Love the track, loved the gig. This recording of KOTM is free, powerful and nuanced enough to one again make me weep. A joy, can't wait for the rest.

I was lucky enough to see these shows live - it was a joy to be there, a privilege. So rest assured that this will be a treat for the ears! Buy it now, you wont regret it! Here's hoping for a treat for the yes too in due course with a blu-ray release too!!

It's going to be magical.

Obviously Kates voice sounds amazing but...the drumming on "King Of the Mountain" is sensational - I heard it on the readio and pre ordered it that night. POWERFULL STUFF...

... and loved every second of the show. Last time I saw Kate live was April 1979 and Before The Dawn was just as brilliant and her voice if anything was better - more powerful, controlled and note perfect. Hearing King of the Mountain and Prologue so far from this recording has reminded me how blown away I was by the pure theatre of the night and the excellent reproduction and interpretation of her concept pieces The Ninth Wave and A Sky of Honey, as well as the joyous and respectful audience reaction. Can't wait to hear more xx

Having seen Before The Dawn, I can say it was absolutely fantastic! An amazing concert/concept. Kate's vocals are sublime. Definitely worth buying, even if there are no new songs. The quality is superb!

... I was lucky enough to see this concert twice. Everyone talked about the set and the incredible production values (which is all true!) but for me, the thing that really blew my mind was how strong, controlled, emotive and INCREDIBLE her voice sounded. I'm not a fan boy but for Kate I'd seriously consider becoming one...! Hold tight for Among Angels. It's like a hug from your mum after a terrible day at school...

Over two years has passed since I was lucky enough to see Kate Bush in London. Without doubt it was the best concert I have ever seen. Pure theatre and pure Kate!

No doubt immense care has been taken in the production of this live recording and I hope there will be visual release someday soon as well.

After listening to Kate for so many years I was one of the fortunate few rewarded by getting tickets to see her live at Hammersmith.

The show was fantastic, with so much thought, and detail put into the choreography and how each song would come across so as to tell the overall story arc that Kate wanted.

I can't wait to relive the show in my head while listening to the album on headphones.

Fear not if you were not fortunate enough to see the show as Kate is in fine form and just hearing live versions of these songs is a treat!!

My one and only niggle was no songs from "The Dreaming" which is my favourite KB album .... that said the songs Kate did perform were superlative.

Saw the show live and it's breathtaking, moving, passionate, uplifting and her voice is like soft honey. The best live show I've ever seen.

I first saw Kate at the Liverpool Empire in 1979. To this day I remain gobsmacked by that show. Over the past 30 years I've seen a lot of brilliant shows from Bowie to Floyd, but no-one has ever surpassed Kate's edge of your seat 'just what on earth is coming next' theatricality. 30+ years later she did it again. She belted out the first 6 tracks in classic Barbra Streisand style. All bare feet and band behind her. But this is Kate Bush. The Tennyson quotes then flew and the Fish People emerged. And the last great English Romantic took us to a special place.

Saw the show twice and it was exactly what this lifelong fan wanted. She was never going to do Wuthering Heights as her voice has changed over the years but this fact seemed lost on some. Highly recommended.

Can't wait to relive the magic that KATE created in her live shows.
