Was not too keen on this album initially. I kind of had it on the back burner until recently but, the more I’ve become familiar with it, the more I enjoy it’s intricacies. It’s very layered too which is strange cos it’s kind of linear upon first listening. I think it just takes a long time to shine but, this is definitely a case of when the sun eventually shines it’s a proper heat revealed!

Keep trying it if you feel it’s hard work! It will pay off. I love it now!

This album is certainly a different direction, and is great :)

I discovered John Grant's work earlier this year and I am now a true fan and admirer of his music and of his art. "Love is Magic" is still pure John Grant but is not as easy to listen to compared to his previous albums. "Pale Green Ghosts", in my opinion, is his best collection of music to date.

I’m a massive fan of John Grant’s previous albums, but I’m really disappointed by the new one. Hopefully it will grow on me in time.
