It’s obvious to those Paul Weller fans who want him to retread Wildwood etc are unlikely to like this. These are short bursts of experimental music that Weller has created from listening to “musique concrete”. A lot of these ideas have been instilled in his songs before as excerpts or part of his last few albums.

No, not for everyone but then I like left field music (David Sylvian, ENO, Virginia Astley).

And of course it’s pretentious!

I’m sure he will be writing “Weller” style songs again!

Sorry Paul, I don’t get this at all.

I really like these but all the pieces are way too short and don't really get a chance to develop into anything. There's plenty of potential here but each track needs to be longer, or possibly more tracks with a connecting theme.

I could compare these with David Sylvian's work with Holger Czukay but those tracks were a lot longer and had time to develop an atmosphere.
