Love it!!

Just got this having been a bit concerned after reading negative reviews. I shouldn’t have worried as it’s a great album, if you love Ozzy as I do you will love this. Can’t wait for Patient number 9!!!

Shockingly good

This is perhaps not what you might expect from the man – but on the other hand, it's just what you might expect? Ozzy has always had a more commercial ear than he'd perhaps like to admit to, and it's very obvious here, served on a bed of sledgehammer riffs. It makes it an odd mixture in some respects, but he's always said he likes each album he does to offer something different, and he's certainly done that. Surprising to see Elton John on here well outside his comfort zone but fitting in well.
I really enjoyed this, and to my ears very much a career highlight.

Not perfect but something special

This is not your average Ozzy Osbourne album. Like Ozzmosis it has a number of more ballad-style tracks, but the similarities stop there. The mood of this album though is something else. Dark, bleak, sorrowful. It sounds real. The emotion pours out of the speakers, something that I don’t think has ever been a factor in Ozzy’s previous work. And in other places he’s just having fun. Is it Diary of a Madman part 2? No. Does it have to be? No. Ozz has done more than enough to prove himself in his career and if he can’t be afforded the time to do something different at this time of life then there’s something wrong somewhere.
One star lost for the Post Malone tracks and the less memorable nature of some tracks.

Ozzy's 71 and still making good music

So it's different - why not? It's more reflective than much of his earlier stuff but still has some great tracks. He's not afraid to mix it up either. If those who give this a hard time are still providing as much entertainment as Ozz at 71, you'll have done well! Relax and turn it up.....

MrMoody2001! Idiot

I have just read a review by mrmoody2001 slating Ozzy for working with Elton John.
Both are legends, and both have collaborated at a time in their life where different roads lead to the same place.
I am not a fan of Elton, not am I a fan of Freddie Mercury, but you cannot deny the global presence they have had.
Ozzy could write an album of entire rubbish and I would buy it.
BUT............he does NOT.
Rock on Ozzy, youre the reason we love metal.

Brilliant

Unless you are reviewing the music why don’t you go and FY. This is a fantastic OZZY album proving he is still the f’ing master.

Amazing record

This is a fantastic record add very varied. The tone is quite sad at times and seems almost like Bowie’s black star however it is a fantastic listen. Love it

Not Ordinary

Full disclosure: I was quite disappointed when I first heard Under The Graveyard and Straight To Hell. However, having given it a bit more time as well as having heared the rest of the album alongside, I can say that this is easily some of Ozzy's best stuff and definitely the best album since Ozzmosis, if not No More Tears.
1) Straight To Hell: An explosive title track with huge sounding drums and raw guitars. Solid opener
2)All My Life: Reminds me of Life Won't Wait in a great way. It's obvious with this track (and the album as a whole) that Ozzy's mortality is on his mind. The riff work and musical performances are great on this track.
3)Goodbye: This song wouldn't sound out of place on Ozzmosis. Gritty gothic and dark.
4)Ordinary Man: The title track is simply beautiful. A reflection of Ozzy's life, his attitude towards it and his hopes for once he's gone. With his age and declining health, this song only stings more. Ozzy definately won't die an ordinary man.
5)Under The Graveyard: The first single. A reflection of Ozzy's addictions and a look at his seeming immortality, and how truly fickle that is. Dark and poignant, this is one of my favourite tracks on the album.
6)Eat Me: A heavy, bluesy affair that rocks. Whoever added the harmonica at the start deserves a raise. The bass and drum work is great, and the riffs are complete earworms
7)Today Is The End: Probably the lowpoint of the album. Kinda generic but still enjoyable.
8)Scary Little Green Men: Catchy as HELL. Parts of Ozzy's vocal performance in the verse reminds me of newer Alice In Chains.
9)Holy For Tonight: A solid ballad with enjoyable instrumentation and melodic guitar work from Slash
10) A very Motörhead-esque song, with a great feature from Post Malone. The catchiest chorus on the album, and one of the most earworm choruses from ALL of Ozzy's catalogue. Heavy, gritty and fast.
11) Take What You Want: Post's song featuring Ozzy is a great closing track to the album, with a solid guitar solo to boot.
Overall, this is a fantastic Ozzy album, and as its likely to be his last, a great send-off to one of metal's giants.
5 Best Tracks: Straight To Hell, All My Life, Ordinary Man, Under The Graveyard, It's A Raid

It’s not too bad

I think I quite like it, much better than I thought it would be and yep - might not be to everyone’s liking but what the hell, I’m giving it four stars and an extra one just because it’s Ozzy.

Far from being an ordinary man.
