Not her best work, but okay!
I love kacey and I have absolutely loved most of her music and albums. She has such a beautiful song writing style, that said this album is just slightly disappointing for me. Lyrically I think this is actually her weakest album, with hollow and basic lyrics compared to previous work.
The album had so much promotion and hype behind it, especially with the concept of it being like a Greek tragedy. I think it’s safe to say my expectations were high but have sadly not been met lyrically. One thing this album does do well though is the “genre bending” - bringing in elements of country, pop, rnb and electronic music that has a nice polished production.
Some stand out songs are: starcrossed, angel, simple times, camera roll, hook up scene and what doesn’t kill me.
