I’m 16 and a half years old (17 in a few months) and I’ve absolutely loved the music of ABBA since I was ever such a lil girl, about 4 or 5. And U Folks are good older.

I love U lot so much. However, here’s My review………

Absolutely awful. The two women’s (particularly Anni-Frid Lyngstad’s) vocals sound just like They’ve smoked 50 a day for donkeys years 🚬. Been autotuned beyond what can be done. Even the old one on here ain’t gr8. The songwriting is atrocious and yet They’re completely stuck in hyper-powerful mode. These days, the lyrics are way too much about empowerment and not enough about having fun.

If You’ve never heard ABBA before, U May possibly like it, but, if U, like Me, are a fan of Their older albums such as “Voulez-Vous” and “Super Trouper” (and I adore “Arrival”) then this won’t be 4 U at all as it’s absolutely awful. This sounds way more like a cash cow than anything else. 🧑🏻🎸👱🏻‍♀️🎤🇸🇪🎤👩🏻‍🦰🎹🧔🏼

You’d literally think that this is a tribute act to ABBA, 4 senior citizens dressing up as Them and the impersonators of the Women trying to do a smokey-voiced autotuned version of Them. Not the actual ABBA. Even Their 2014 Wembley Arena performance was way better than this.

1/10. So in conclusion…………….

Just go ahead a buy “ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits” for less than a fiver as it’s about 25 billion times better than this absolutely awful cash in karaoke drivel, My ears are bleeding 🤮

A truly descriptive title, written and recorded “trend blind”. This shows in the eclectic themes within, emotional and uplifting tracks like I Still Have Faith In You & the uptempo Don’t Shut Me Down, undoubtedly are highlights. The curio of a previously incomplete track from the vault, Just A Notion, sprinkled by some Benny magic dust is a delight. Other tracks such as When You Danced With Me with its Irish flavour, whist good seems to be at odds with the rest of the album. I would put this album although seen as a sequel to The Visitors as lighter in tone. This will be interesting to see how this recent work will be regarded in years to come. All in all I look as this as a comfort blanket helping us through these troubled times.

I listen to it and feel a mix of emotions sadness where has time gone ? I been a fan since school and this cd is along time coming, great music and greatly missed. Excellent!!

Took me a few listens but I can't stop now. Their voices are a little huskier but those harmonies and the songs are still increidble. I am so pleased they're back !

Great to see ABBA back. Looked forward to hearing the album since the news broke and I haven’t been disappointed.

It’s funny how deeply music can move you. W has been teased over the past two years about Anna having recorded two songs and reworked another but no-one could possibly have imagined that a new ABBA album was imminent. As a well known broadsheet reported, the launch of I Still Have Faith In You and Don’t Shut Me Down was a cultural phenomenon. ISHFIY was a classic ABBA ballad but Don’t Shut Me Down was the momentous 21st century ABBA sound that took your breath away. It sounds almost daft to suggest that an upbeat song like DSMD could bring tears to your eyes, but it did. The new sound, with echoes of imperial 1979/1980 Super Trouper and The Visitors. It brought back memories of time with parents, happy childhood days. So Emotional. So classy. So ABBA. What a way to make a comeback……..

Initially I liked the first two songs , other tracks I wasn’t sure, if that was the case why do I keep playing it, the album is really really good , it’s said this is a one off album ( I hope not , because they still have a lot to offer ) , yes the have aged like us all, but the quality is still there

I've been an abba fan forever - trust me thats a long time now. I'd looked forward to this album, but so disappointed. I'd forgiven the early 'single' release as a pop tune to get attention hoping hte album would be so much better. But, the music is familiar 70's / 80's pop-a-longs, not what I wanted to hear after their journey. The lyrics are awful, the voices are so much more deserving than this garbage. . The only album I ever bought on itunes and deleted.

As I was never an ABBA fan in my youth, I only heard the chart entries back in the day, or watching them on Top of the Pops or Swap Shop!

Anyway, for some reason I watched the ABBA documentary on the Box the other evening and the story really gripped me, I sat there an thought, wonder what they would sound like these days?

I looked on iTunes and downloaded Agnetha’s ablum called, A, I was very impressed at how her voice had matured over time but you could still her the youthfulness in the voice, was blown away to say the least, and I’m a fussy one with voices 😂.

Well, it then happened, I searched iTunes for ABBA and there it was, the new Album, so without much hesitation I downloaded it.

The opening track is just musically so pleasing to the ear it really is, that also has to go with the last track on the album too, both joy to listen to.

The album I have to say, has not stopped playing in my ears since I downloaded it the other week, which I find very strange, as I’m not an ABBA fan, but this album is something completely different to the ABBA I heard back in the day, yes, of course they’ve all aged, but the sound they’re creating is amazing.

Hats off the them, I hope this isn’t the last we will hear from them, Benny, on an interview said he’d do another on if the Ladies asked him, fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Whilst songs are ok, the mix is very poor the girls voices need bringing forward in the mix or backing reducing

Compared to the classic ABBA songs - Winner takes it all, Dancing Queen etc - there is nothing here in that league. so great to the girl's voices but it's the same story as so many greats: Bowie, Jagger/Richards etc they hit a golden seam of unique melodies when in their prime, which nature dictates, the grey matter only has so many great ideas, after which new songs become a tribute to past glories or worse a pastiche of memories. Love the album because they can still knock out a song, but don't confuse that with great original content. None of these new songs will be memorable next year, let alone in 40 year's time.

This is just what we have been waiting for, tunefuls songs, beautifully arranged and performed. Different styles, providing a balanced record. Welcome back!

What a disappointment. Apart from the first 2 singles this is all rather bland cheesy pop. After 40 years ABBA still have it and there was so much potential to shine, but they rarely do on this album. This album was destined to be a great success regardless but if this was a new unknown group i doubt this would even chart!

I’ve liked ABBA all my life.. I have every song they have ever recorded both single tracks and albums. In my view this is one of the best albums ABBA have produced. Absolute genius, love love love this music. Another master piece.

Absolute joy to listen to

I have listened to this album countless times already (probably 6 times a day since released) & it’s everything you’d expected of them. Sublime vocals & every song catchy. “Ode to Freedom” will surely become an ABBA Anthem: being the final song of the album.

God, I have missed these 4 people for the last 39 years.

It’s like 40 years ago we put one of our best bottles of wine on the shelf and left it to mature. This album is written , produced and performed by four people who have lived and breathed music all their lives. Like they say , they have nothing to prove . There is variety here and yes I have my favourites but whatever the track , it is uniquely ABBA and to have a new album in 2021 is a special joy. “Ode to Freedom” is one of the most moving ends to any album ever. I am so glad they returned to the studio and that bottle of wine is a taste well worth the wait. We still have the wonderful back catalogue but we now also have ABBA 2021 to savour

Other than ‘Gold’, I don’t own other ABBA albums and wasn’t around for their early years but I just love this. It’s catchy. The lyrics tell stories. It doesn’t rely on swearing and gimmicks. There’s just something wholesome and uplifting about it. At first I found the content of some songs a little strange (dogs and bees etc.) but again there’s just something really sincere, heartfelt, and original about it. I can picture the songs being used to tell a larger story set across several years. Really love it and if they do more that would be amazing. Initial favs include ‘Just a Notion’ and ‘Keep an Eye on Dan’, but I can listen to the whole album through with no problem!

It’s like they have never been away! Every single track is typical ABBA, inoffensive, classic pop tunes that conjure up every emotion all at the same time. Fantastic!

Boring, dull and forgettable. Those Are the words I would use to describe this album. In about 20/30 years Time, people will still be singing along to classics such as “Waterloo”, Voulez-Vous”, “Knowing Me, Knowing You”, “Chiquitita” and “Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)” and not the songs on this album. This album is well and truly better best forgotten (no pun intended).

I am 13 again, excited, happy and overwhelmed. This album feels like a move towards a stage musical, than anything written in the seventies, which could a great move to make it truly timeless.

I currently have the sweeping and melodic “Ode to Freedom” on repeat. I would love to hear it played live but if it doesn’t make the cut for next years Abbatars show, then I will still be happy pumping it through my headphones, closing my eyes and drifting with the waves of sublime vocals.

Well I’ve listened to this album about 5 times now and it just keeps getting better and better.Most,(if not all)ABBAS songs have a story to them.Fantastic song writing.5stars from me.

I love A ba. I so wanted this to be amazing. Unfortunately the short album is full of fillers. Slow, repetitive with weak voices. It lacks any clear direction and just does not give any satisfaction. Forgettable. Avoid this album.

Great album

Absolutely love the new album. It’s classic ABBA with the catchy melodies, soaring strings and synths and quirky lyrics which always tell a story. It gets better and better with every listen to it. Welcome back ABBA ❤️

The first song on the album is amazing, the rest are very, very average. Some strange lyrics and themes too. All rather pointless.

I was pleased that Bjorn and Benny didn't try to fill in the musical styles from the intervening 40 years since we last had an ABBA album. 'Voyage' sounds to me as though it could have appeared a year or two after 'The Visitors' - and that's what's great about it - its pure ABBA.

I love ABBA since the 1970’s and I was sad when they decided to part company in 1982. Since then both Benny and Bjorn has written some great songs for stage and themselves. And like everyone else, the news of a new album and tour lit the enthusiasm of joy. The early release of two songs were great tasters, so it goes without saying their new album cannot come any sooner. Unfortunately, and I hate to say it, but this album is terrible!! If you listen to all of ABBA’s previous songs, they have great melody and enticing tunes like the Pied Piper to draw you in. Ironic really as ABBA has a classic song called The Piper which tells of the same story of people being sucked-in happily following tunes, which this album is clearly unable to achieve. Most of the songs in this album sounds like Swedish folk music which I entirely get as both B&B originally started as Swedish folk musicians; however all their previous songs certainly aren’t of folk genre, they were definitely within the times. So what the hell happened!!!! I feel as if B&B didn’t play the songs to a panel fans for their opinions before compiling them together. In truth, all albums will have few songs aren’t that great and will never be released as a single. Unfortunately, there’s only one song that’s good out of the bad bunch and that’s ‘Don’t Shut Me Down’, I think it’s quite apt. ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ has so much potential to be a very good song but sounded very flat. It was missing the classic ABBA melody or ditty which makes you tap your fingers like the piano piece in Chiquita. I’m very sorry ABBA, but this is your worse ever album, I just hope your concert in May will be better. I have already got the tickets (blood expensive, too), now I wish I didn’t purchased them because all the good songs are from years ago. However, from what I’ve heard it’s going to be amazing LED light event….well I suppose it will take your attention away from the terrible songs of this album.

Haven’t stop listening to this and it just gets better with every listen. So many different styles of music and my only complaint is that I wish so was longer. Thanks for this last album and thank you for the music.

Great to hear a new ABBA album in my lifetime. If you’re familiar with ABBA’s 8 other studio albums, this does not disappoint. A perfect mix of gleaming pop singles and glorious album ballads and dittys! Love it

It’s do great to be able to have new Abba music - who could of imagined. It’s all Abba … dance , melodies, drama but most of all the distinctive sound and the voices if Agnetha and Frida . An emotional listen but just a big than you for the music once again !

I am so pleased that I didn't pre-order this album. I absolutely adore 'Don't Shut Me Down' but if you were expecting to hear similar tunes, you will be rather disappointed. Other than this, the songs are all ballads better suited for somebody in their twilight years. However the song 'Ode To Freedom' is growing on me. If you want more upbeat, uplifting music, try What The Future Holds 1 and 2 by STEPS. Prime examples of an up-tempo ABBA-esque sound are 'Living In A Lie' and 'Something In Your Eyes' .

Unbelievably brilliant. It took me back to when I heard ABBA’s then new song Super Trouper in Angola in Nov 1980, and the almost mixed reviews in Britain in early 1981. How do they still capture one’s emotions after all these years? Each time I hear this new album the songs just get better!

It was a mistake to release this album. It feels forced, lyrics are ridiculous, and it’s not even possible to compare it with their previous albums. Huge disappointment

The whole album is awful! The only song that is somewhat good is Don’t Shut Me Down the rest of the album is so bad to be honest. I won’t be thanking you for this music anytime soon. Sorry Abba 😳

Beautiful to hear the voices of Agnetha and Frida together again, and so special to hear how the voices have matured and are yet just as magical.

It’s mellowness and Celtic meanderings are more reminiscent of the Supertrouper era. Boulez avoid fans might be slightly disappointed but otherwise this is typical ABBA with characteristic awkwardly charming lyrics and ‘those’ spellbinding voices.

ABBA haven’t lost their touch or voices 40yrs later! Worth the wait and I hope it’s the first of many! ABBA fans won’t be disappointed and my teenager has an appreciation for proper music and song writing thanks to ABBA.

That is 30 years too late. The songs belong in the past when they were at the top. Listened to the first 4 songs and wasn’t impressed at all, even though I still regard Abba as the greatest pop group in history.

Unbelievable that we get to hear such timeless music again!

ABBA have stayed true to themselves, but with sophisticated, mature and profound lyrics. This is an eclectic mix of songs with equally eclectic blend of themes. Some people may be disappointed as it’s not ‘Dancing Queen’ or ‘Mamma Mia’, but with a few more listens, the sheer brilliance will shine through. ‘Voyage’ is a superb follow up to ‘The Visitors’ and the 40 year gap between albums is barely apparent. This is truly “now and then combined”! ABBA took a gamble, but hit the jackpot. I’m very happy.

Love ABBA but words can’t describe this album. It’s a gift from them to us and I love it! Just feel sad that there is a gap of 40 years where we could have even had more ABBA songs. But thankfully we have been given this 😊

If the remaining tracks are as good as the first three then we can say with complete confidence ABBA are back on top. Please don't leave it so long for another album.

I now have the album and have reduced my rating to 4 stars. Some track are terrific but not all.

What a treat! I can only remember one or two ABBA songs first time around, I vividly remember dancing around to Super Trooper! I never thought I would ever hear new music from ABBA and wow; what incredible talent they still have. From start to finish it is unashamedly the ABBA we love.

This will keep me going for the next 40 years, thank you for the music ABBA.

Well well well, there are just a few bands in the world that could achieve such results at that level if all band members were still alive and active in a way. Luckily we have the geniuses Benny and Bjorn plus the two Goddesses singers Agnetha and Frida much alive and in good shape, giving this big gift, a new ABBA album to the post pandemic world. We have learned never say never!

Heard this album last night on a webinar, love every single song, timeless excellence and true ABBA style, magnificent is so understated there isn’t a word to describe the happiness I feel, two wonderful musicians two ladies with voices of angels, loved them for 47 years and will keep on loving till the end of time! Absolutely brilliant pure perfection ❤️

All 10 tracks on this album are absolutely stunning,so well written,and it is superbly produced.It was definitely worth the 40 year wait.l just wish there were 20 new tracks.l should think,and hope that Little Things will become a Christmas song.and be played regularly around that period.

Rather forced, "let's be ABBA" fare, but lacking the quality and catch of the original song log. I have the greatest of respect for this wonderful group - and good for them to do some nw songs - but for me they are more 'miss' than 'hit.'

The world should wake up and realise how lucky it is to be here, at this time when ABBA bring out a master class in song writing, studio technique and total vocal brilliance. The world has moved on in the last 40 years but if you think thumping mindless bass beats and swearing every second word is progress then you can keep it. ABBA came back with this, not stuck in the 70s but simply realised that music does not get any better than the excellent formula they have. I’m so please, no thrilled they haven’t deviated….I’m looking forward to more ABBA soon. The world needs ABBA and more people like them. Brilliant ABBA, simply brilliant!

After the rather disingenuous press reviews this morning, I am relieved and spellbound by how genuinely lovely and moving this album is. What a triumph. As an ageing ABBA fan from the 1970s I will never be able to thank them enough for the joy that this reunion has brought - but thank you!

Listening to ABBA's new music after a 40 year break is simply amazing. So many of my memories feature them...

Sitting in the top room of Aunty’s pub watching wide eyed, with a glass of Corona cream soda and a bag of Smiths cheese and onion, as they won Eurovision. Seeing them live at Wembley. Friday nights spent singing and dancing to their music. All the weddings, parties and nights out with mates, waiting for Dancing Queen to tear us away from our cocktails. Rushing to the cinema and theatre several times to watch Mama Mia…only to be told off by for sobbing every time a song came on.

ABBA, you have been with me for the best part of my life. Every single song evoking gratitude and positivity. Absolutely love the bones of you! Pure unadulterated joy. So, so happy ❤️❤️❤️

Abba doing now what they did before, albeit the first two songs to be released are not as strong vocally as much of their earlier material. The rest of the album promises to be much the same. Abba fans will undoubtedly love it for all the good times and memories; non-Abba fans will not. It's as simple as that.

Gutted when ABBA announced they were to take a break in 1982, I am over the moon withthe soothing sounds of the first two tracks. Whether age has mellowed me or, once more the enigmatic voices of the dynamic duo of Agnetha & Frida send tingles to my ear lobes; I feel my own personal voyage is now complete. Preordered and can't wait for the 5th November. Forget Guy Fawkes night, I will be buried under my headphones in pure unadulterated musical heaven.

I caught a preview of one track on tv, and it seems as if this might live up to previous releases, I would prefer to be able to preview all of the tracks to make an informed decision, hopefully this will be the start of more releases in future.

These songs make you want to dance, smile and sob all at the same time. Quintessential unmistakably ABBA. Major-minor flourishes abound, the sound of Agnetha and Frida’s voices in harmony is the most beautiful sound in all of modern music. Count yourself lucky to be alive to witness this. POP CULTURE HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE.

Obvoiusly the voices have changed a little but it's unmistakably ABBA!! It's so good to have them back - the MAGIC is still there!! It's beautiful - only now the lyrics have more depth and feeling and they sound wonderful!!
