Bad for Good

I purchased this after playing both Bat out of Hell, and Meatloaf and Stoney to death on my record player. The last two tracks were not actually on the LP but on a 7" disc included in the package. It bears all the hallmarks of a Jim Steinman production, but, For me the strongest vocals were provided by Rory Dodd. Jim makes a fine effort, but he lacks the power of Meatloaf and it was always a hard act to follow.

Yes...& No

Great album .....
Jim tries , but there’s only one voice that can do these songs justice...& that belongs to Mr.Loaf
Do yourself a favour & buy Bat Out Of Hell II instead

Jim Stienman - Bad for Good

Fantastic album, Meat Loaf has covered some of these songs but this is far superior, was supposed to be recorded by Meat Loaf as a follow up to Bat our of hell

Excellent

Originally written for Meat Loaf but when he was unable to record the songs Jim Steinman made the decision to record them himself with the help of some guest singers and musicians.
A great album which includes many songs that Meat Loaf later re-recorded.
As can be expected has a similar feel to Bat Out Of Hell, and is often referred to as the “real Bat Out Of Hell 2”.
Highly recommend this album and includes some gems not to be found elsewhere (“Dance In My Pants” and “Stark Raving Love”).
