A beautiful, beautiful collection of emotionally-supercharged songs (+ 2 instrumentals). If you can listen to "Waves" without a lump in your throat or a tear in your eye you have a heart of stone. The man is a genius. Don't think twice - buy it.

Fantastic collection of emotions
Wonderful tunes with great lyrics and a unique, beautiful delivery. Makes you feel part of each songs subject without being too over sentimental. If you don’t smile, cry and everything in-between when you listen to this album there is something wrong with you.

So glad I heard Waves on Radio 2 - this album has opened my eyes
Like many others I heard Waves on Bob Harris - it struck a chord I bought it for 79p and it fast became one of my most frequently played tunes so bought the album and it is absolutely outstanding - the lyrics and musicianship are inspirational compared with most "modern" tunes.

Just from Waves...
As you get older, you get a little jaded and maybe seek out new music much less than in your earlier years. What an absolute joy then to hear Bob Harris (BBC Radio 2) play the first track on this album today. I was absolutely blown away by the song and the way Sam sings his poignant words and had to pull over in my car to listen. When I got home I had to play it to my wife. I will undoubtedly buy the whole album. Isn't it great how music can reach out to you when you least expect it? I wish Sam great success if he wants it. Sublime...

slow burn give it a chance
This CD is the reason for my ipod ! brought the CD after listening to Sam on the radio had it in the background for a couple of days now it is the best CD ive ever brought - not a huge country fan this is not a overly "country" CD I love to listen to the lyrics - if you are the same this is the one for you - give it a go, he is different to anything you would have heard before and best listened too with a glass of wine and candles burning. If in doubt download Pony !

Addictive Listening
This guy has a unique style that requires the listener to tune into what is being sung. That mental effort is rewarded by lyrics that are as subtle as they are passionate and hard-hitting. I play this album to people who wouldn't usually listen to folk and they generally love it. I have become a fan and will buy other work.

Sam Baker has produced a gem of an album, one that will grow and grow to be recognised as a classic. I love the style of this artists creativity. Listen and you will smile, cry, reflect, but most of all you will enjoy.
