This album includes some very fine ironic song-writing by LW, including One Man Guy (self-absorption), I'm Alright (blues-style anti-love song), How Old Are You? (viewing his own musical career through the jaundiced eyes of the press). It also includes fun novelty songs like Cardboard Boxes (moving house), Animal Song (animals), Daddy Take a Nap (middle-aged napping). And lastly, death songs, including Not John (moving tribute to John Lennon), Out Of This World (suicide wish?), Ready or Not (So Ripe) (suicide again?)

I used to listen to the cassette version of this album a lot. Not John is one of my favourite LW songs of all time.

I disagree about the reviewer's comments about Not John. I found it a very moving track without being twee. Well done Loudon!!
