God

At the time I, Assassin was released, Numan believed it was the best album he had made. Although it was unsurprisingly slated by the majority of the British music press (which had had a strong dislike for Numan and his music ever since his meteoric rise to fame), the album did garner some praise. Numan was given credit for changing his sound by shifting from synth-heavy music to a more bass-led, electro-dance approach[citation needed]. Numan argued that he wanted to shift away from a lot of electronic artists during this period because he felt they were stuck in an interchangeable and simplistic rut that they could never break

MUSIC FOR CHAMELEONS

I play 'air bass guitar' when I listen to music for chameleons.

Sadly it's often overlooked...

I was lucky enough to find this album on holiday in Paris and i am so glad i did, it takes a bit of getting used to but this album really groes on you. Best tracks are the excellent "White boys and heroes", "A dream of Siam", "I, Assassin", "Glitter and Ash" and "Noise Noise". The album is uniformly excellent throughout and gets better the more you listen to it, it could be turning into my favourite Numan album as it is the one i listen to the most at the moment. Even the novely track "Bridge? What Bridge?" is good in a hilarious kind of way. Classic Numan with a twist... 9/10

I, Assassin

Overlooked 1982 excursion from Numan has some great tracks, We Take Mystery, 1930s Rust, Music for Chameleons and White Boys & Heroes. Production a bit strange, but it's one of his best efforts. An absolute monument to the early '80s with nods to Duran Duran and the bass work is superb.

I Assassin

Much ignored album from Gary Numan's eighties era, wedged between Dance, and Warriors.
Has some very powerful tracks, though his limited vocal range can sometimes let him down.
Well known singles, however, and some good use of synth on This is my house, and A dream of Siam.
My favorite after Telekon, and Replicas.
