Soothing Album By Enigma Vocalist

I remember "Your Not Alone" back in the 90's I purchased it in a shop called Ourprice records, I liked the cover, when I got it home I also found out I liked Ruth Ann's voice, quite a long stretch on her vocals adds depth to the music along with it's ability to catch your attention, now and then a singer will come along that can stand the test of time, which Ruth seems to do nicely.. At the start of the 90's an Album was launched with a Monk on the front cover, it was a strange album full of singing Monks and a trancy beat, it was by a group only known as Enigma and it got me hooked, I later purchased each Album as it was released, if you listen carefully you might be just be able to hear Ruth's Voice again, it never fails to catch my attention, this album is where Enigma stopped and Ruth carried on, no matter what time of day you play this album you will just want more.....

Genuinely compulsive stuff

Absolutey cracking album which shows off Ruth Ann's blissful vocals wonderfully and underpinned by a laid back, chilled dance vibe production. Highly recommended - I haven't stopped playing this for weeks. A CD release would be ideal... but there is none, so grab it here instead.

Highly Recommended

Great, laid back dance/electronica album. It's only available on download as previously stated so get your copy here. There are elements of Enigma here through the Michael Cretu production, so if your are an Enigma fan this comes highly recommended. Worth the money.

Download only

Fabulous new album produced my Michael Cretu showcasing Ruth Ann from Olive and her amazing voice. A touch of Enigma in the soundscape will keep Cretu's fans happy but this is more vocal led than Enigma and a bit more edgy than his Sandra material. This album is only available to download though so don't go looking for it in the shops.

I've been a fan of Ruth Ann for some years, mainly through her work with Enigma (check out the song 'Gravity of Love', perhaps my all-time favourite song, an absolute masterpiece) and of course from her huge Olive hit 'You're Not Alone'. Produced by Michael Cretu (mastermind of Enigma), this is a sophisticated, smooth and mature pop album, with an excellent mix of uptempo numbers as well as some fantastic 'chilled' tracks. Cretu really knows how to get the best out of Ruth Ann's voice, which is a truly haunting and unique instrument in itself. Best tracks are the heartfelt rendition of 'Drive', 'Beautiful' (which is just that!), Enigma-like 'What About Us' and the upbeat 'Dancing into Hell', surely deserving of some clubby remixes and a single release.

What about us

A real grower. The cover of Drive, the Cars classic is interesting and several of the tracks, particularly "No Surrender" are great. It is Ruth Ann's voice that really rewards the listener and she should challenge herself with more varied material. The only fault here is that she has not moved on enough from her days with Olive.

Ruth Ann at her finest

Whilst I have been an Enigma fan since I can remember, I have heard how maluable Ruth's vocals can be, so this solo album definatly proves how well she can blast out her talents.
This album can be seen as an evolution from Olive & Enigma, the dancy beats make you appreciate how young and fresh her vocals still are.
With Micheal Cretu, being the mastermind behind all this, I can almost say this is a valid extension of Enigma 6-A Posteriori, the latter having not used Boyle's vocal this time round. But if you take this album and listen to it full blast, I can almost merge it into an enigma album, wrong I know, but the vocals are amazing, vibrant, spine tingling and a credit to Ruth.
Its finally time Ruth deserved her own album, and this album is sure to be played around clubs, especially tracks like No Surrender, Go, and What about us.
Definatly worth the buy!
