Bass player heaven !

As a bass player myself you can tell this was mixed by one of the best bass players of all time.
The Gates of Delirium is simply outstanding compared to the album version. If you think prog rock is
boring, listen to this, enough said.

Never loses its appeal

I've had this album for roughly 17yrs, out of all yes albums I must have played this the most. I'd say all the tracks easily outdo the original studio versions. They're not perfect, but are unbelieveable live performances. Highlights for me has to be gates of delirium and ritual. Best live album ever and utterly essential to any yes fan.

How do they do it?

I love listening to live music - when it's done well. Yes Shows is a masterpiece of live performance and even given the odd dodgy bit of recording, is an absolute classic.
Gates of Delirium is one of the finest pieces of live recording ever made (I reckon).
I always get the impression that they're almost 'making it up as they go along' then, with a cymbal crash or a strategic bass note, they're all back together. Stunning 'tightness', efficiency and talent.

Unbelievable!

Absolutley brilliant. Gates of....is just a perfect. Arguably one of the greatest pieces of live rock, you'll ever hear.

Yesshows (Live)

The version of Gates of Delirium on this album is, in my view one of the greatest pieces of music ever recorded.

This takes me back..............

....... I loved this album amongst all my many Yes albums. I have now given all my vinyls away to a good cause and will buy what I really like from I tunes.
In concert they were fantastic but when Jon left, that was the end !!
