Original Instrumental Beats

Chinoiseries is an extremely well orchestrated album. The music is clever and intelligently formed through the use of vietnamese samples the result of which is a collage of colourful relaxing stoned textures which are a pleasure to listen to. The album is chocked full of wonderful tracks, which although often painfully short, form part of a 32 track album; so you have more than enough of Onra to listen to. Despite the length of the tracks, the record flows well and manages to lull you into a blissful chill. For me the music is for lazy summer weekends but it could well translate with other moods such is the delicacy and beauty of the music. Check out 'Boundless Boundaries', 'Relax in Mui Ne', 'I Wanna Go Back' and 'The Vallee of Love' for an idea of what to expect from the record.

Quality find!

This is an excellent album for a few quid - a reet bargain. It's not as 'different' as people say, but it's funky, progressive and in parts quite haunting. The odd cack track but overall it is absolute quality; imaginatively mixed together moving in and out prog house, techno and breakbeat. Certainly worth downloading.

A bargain for something unique.

32 songs here, albeit small, is quite a bargain for the album price. The songs themselves are quite different, perhaps background music as you were cooking - yet I can't help but feel lovingly cultured as I listen to "Last Tango in Saigon". If you're looking for music that will leave you awe-struck and riddeled with goosebumps, then this certainly isn't for you; but for those who appreciate casual chill-out tunes, then I recommend this highly.
