Dr. Noonian Soong must've wept when he made him.

Okay, so I am ever-so-slightly biased about this being as I am a Star Trek/ Data fan... ergo I am naturally going to check out how old yellow eyes can sing.
Aside from science fiction my other biggest passion is musical theatre, so when I took the chance and downloaded this, knowing that I know and love voices in the capacity that I do, I found myself absolutely in love with this record instantly, and the gorgeous beauty of Brent's voice. Why has he only confined himself to just two records in his entire singing career? We're not talking, the man can sing a few songs half-okay, we're talking full of range, emotion and depth. These songs will take you far beyond the reaches of the Alpha Quadrant; just allow yourself to be washed over the beautiful melodies and harmonies of Brent and Maude's voices, as they tell the story of two lovers in a dream, as romantic as any sonnet could hope for.
There's a whole story here in these songs of comedy, love, passion and drama, all set against a backdrop of music and singing reminiscent of the Golden Age, without any shadow of being tongue-in-cheek or twee. This is far too beautiful and passionate a record for that.
Just wish Mr Spiner would record some more of his outstanding voice.

A Must for Brent Spiner Fans

A terrific ‘audio-film’ that is captivating from start to finish as you follow the charming love story of a couple; whom although are never named, are defined enough to give you sense of personality, but left unspecific enough to allow your imagination to interpret it in whatever way you want, which I would say it was makes it so accessible. Plus you get to listen to Brent Spiner’s gorgeous voice for 3/4 of an hour- what could be better! Although ‘Dreamland’ is best listened to as a whole, there are some great individual tracks such as ‘City Streets’, ‘A Rude Awakening’, ‘One More Time’ and the fantastic culminating song, ‘I am awake?’. Truly this is an album you can listen to again and again, and one you’ll find yourself singing throughout your day.
