I actually prefer this album to Saturnalia, partially on the strength of the songs themselves but also because seems more varied and has a slightly rawer sound; you really get the force of vocals and the music feels less produced. Personal favourites are Down the Line and We Have Met Before, but having said that this is an album which really hangs together and deserves to be listened to as a whole. I'm a huge Lanegan fan, Bubblegum and Dust are 2 of the best albums I own and this is up there with them: adult, accessible and hugely accomplished.
