Excluding the Blood Fire Death album, Bathory was pretty awful during the 80s. Every song sonded the same and I only took a liking to the odd track here and there. But now, this is the real deal, a drastic change of style into a softer, less brutal sound with better lyrics, 100 times better music and a lot more singing. Shores In Flames really took my breath away and dragged me into the album where every single god damn song is perfect! This is definitely what made Bathory such an icon in the Black (or Viking) Metal scene and no matter how many times I here it, the awesomness just never fades away.

This is one of those albums which you either love or hate, no in-between. Music like this is written off by people who don't understand it. This is one Mother of an album, make no mistake. This album will has to be played loud, if its not loud enough you too old, and I'm 50.
