Rich Chocolate Covered Loveliness

I purchased this album back in the 80's on vinyl. Couldn't believe my eyes when I show this on iTunes. What a fantastic sound! Churches, pagentry, pomp and ceremony! Big synths, large production, sounds as if it was recorded in the Royal Albert Hall. I would love to find these guys and get a Synthesizer II produced. Watch this space.

Better than Tomita & Wendy Carlos (shock horror!)

Fantastic to find this absolute classic, Classical analogue synth LP from 1980 as a downlooad, although I would have preferred a CD.
However at £2.49 it‘s a quality bargain especially considering the cost of all the amazing analogue kit that was used in creating this masterpiece......
Instruments used to create this recording:
Polyfusion Series 2000 Modular system, Roland system 100 M, Roland CSQ 100 Digital sequencer, Roland studio stereo phaser, Roland studio stereo flanger, Roland Vocoder Plus VP 330, Roland Dimension Decoder, Roland Jupiter 4 Compuphonic, Roland SH2 Synthesiser, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, Moog system 15, Polymoog, Yamaha CS 50, Yamaha CS 30L, Korg Polyphonic Ensemble 2000, Korg Vocoder, Boss Chorus ensemble, Oberheim 4 voice Polyphonic, Oberheim 2 voice and sequencer unit, R.M.I. Keyboard computer.
I love the work of Tomita & especially Wendy Carlos, but their synths were mostly Moogs from the pioneering days (still quality) & Masterworks have used all the best analogue kit, before the digital (& naff) synth era kicked in. Greig’s Piano Concerto has some quality & appropriate, analogue percussion/drum machine sounds, like a Korg Minipops 7 in tone.
I wish they had produced more like this, now almost forgotten, hidden classic. 10/10 A*

Masterworks Revisited

This is basically a reissue of a K-TEL album "MASTERWORKS" which came out in the eighties. It was noval for its time and was advertised on TV. It may sound a little dated now, but seeing as I have the original LP and have played it to bits, I was glad to find this one.
The tracks are a good synth interpretation of the originals. No drums machines here thank god !
