This is an interesting album from Bette's back catalogue.

After the failure of her second film Jinx, Bette focused back on her music. She tried with this album to be a Rock n Roll star pulling in help from the Rolling stones no less. She also used Bruce Springsteen's producer

Several of the songs will be familiar. Favourite Waste of Time was covered by Owen Paul and was a huge hit in the UK. I dont Know Much was a also a hit for Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt. Also if you have seen Bette on her recent tour Beast of Burden (the Stones song) will also be familar to you.

It lacks a bit of the quirky charm of some of her other recordings but she was seriously trying to be a rock star. Ironically after this album Bette focused her attention back on acting and had a hugely succesful run of movies which meant her music career took a bit back seat.

Worth a listen but might not be what you were expecting from the Divine Miss M
