I told all my friends how this woman was going to make it for the right reasons and with the right music and here she is (well, will be when she gets her next album out). She is just one of those women that certain people can fall in love with and know that she genuinely loves what she does when she does it! This album definitely continues from her triumph on The X Factor; and she progresses through each song. Most of the songs have the same element of love, but are usually 'side stories' of situations and feelings towards and after the feelings of love.
There are a few covers on here I know, but don't let that scare you away from listening to the rest of the music on the album. Run was a perfectly good effort and projected the same message as when Snow Patrol did so, just in an extremely different way. A Moment Like This was never a song I'd known of before, so I never complained about it being a cover and when I found out and listened to the original, I said 'meh' to the original and thought 'WOW' when I saw Leona singing it.
I'm not going to lie, Forgive Me was a huge disappointment, the main reason why I gave this one star less. Because this isn't Leona's style at all, her voice doesn't really go with this kind of music, at least in my opinion. However, I'm not saying this is a bad album overall, otherwise I wouldn't give this 4 stars. Her cover of 'The First Time I Saw Your Face' is amazingly, stunningly breathtaking and is just so peaceful and just thoroughly enjoyable to listen to and in all honesty, I tear did run down my eye, because she never went over the top with the notes she hit, she let them flow. Bleeding Love was my song back when this first came out and I adored it to bits despite it being overplayed a lot, but you never hear it anymore, which is a shame considering this was a breakthrough song in my opinion and was just perfect for those who enjoy those kinds of songs. I'm always one for heart break songs.
'I'm You' is one of those songs I find myself swaying to when I get to the chorus, something I enjoy doing because it shows it only isn't effecting me mentally/emotionally, but physically too. 'Better In Time' is definitely in the top 3 in this album for me. The message just does it for those who have been through heart break, whether through a loss or a break up It shows that everyone deserves to smile and everything will be okay in the end, a message that is perfectly emphasised in this song. I would say a lot more but I have rambled on enough. I honestly think that if you just listen to a clip of each song, you can tell by yourself if this is an album worth purchasing, which it is if you're into this kind of music.
