As a big fan of Pavement I approached this album with trepidation. Would it be a self indulgent foray into the weird world of Stephen Malkmus? Turns out what it is is a wonderful piece of work by a fantastic musician. This is an outstanding album and I would urge everyone to listen to it. My kids listen to it and come in from school humming Pink India or singing the chorus from Jo Jo (which by the way has the best video I've ever seen!).

Mr Malkmus as we all know is a great songwriter, he doesn't just cobble together words to get a song out, his lyrics are thoughtful and striking and full of reference points to keep the listener interested.

So if you are hovering over the 'Buy Album' button, umm'ing and err'ing over whether to click, my advice is do it, listen and sit back knowing you have made the correct choice.
