Not my usual music, actually nothing like this. What a real treat this is and i wish i had found Eva Cassidy many years ago. The track 'I know you by heart' brought tears to my eyes. A simple and easy listning album. A real treat, thank you Eva x

If Terry Wogan and his producer, Paulie Walters, could be proud of anything in their broadcasting career then its the fact that they gave the late Eva Cassidy her chance to show the world what she had. Eva was one of the greatest voices of her generation and yet was practically unknown outside of her local area. Her version of "Songbird" and "Fields of gold" are far superior to the excellent originals whilst her rendition of "Over the rainbow" has now been imitated to death on countless albums and TV shows. Whilst the material has sadly dried up, this CD is the best of the bunch and shows someone who didn't need "Brit" awards, coke binges or Grammy's to change the world. Eva could change your point-of-view with a guitar and her voice!

Worst music purchase I have made in nearly 40 years, the gospel lyrics which I was not expecting killed it for me. In this genre Rumer or Karen Carpenter are much better options.

This album is one of the most simplest yet effective albums I have ever heard. Every song on this album cannot be faltered and her voice is simply magical. Thank you so very much.

Stunning album, sadly lost my mum to cancer, died too young, I play this album often & it reminds me of her. Beautiful songs by a beautiful performer who also tragically died at a young age.

My Dad died suddenly last year - and at the service my littlest brother wanted Eva singing ' Over the rainbow' to play at the end when everyone filed out - at first it seemed like it'd be too joky an idea but then we listened to it and realised it'd be perfect - which it was - very very beautiful

We played Fields of Gold at my Fathers funeral. He was a barley farmer who in his life brought great happiness to everyone he met. We are poorer for his passing but this song will always remind me of the happy times we had.

Eva Cassidy sadly died very young, and so was denied the success and accolades she so richly deserved. But her music and unique voice live on in this brillent ablum. Highly Recommended!!!!!!

Don't normally buy full albums as it's hard to like all the songs. However, every one on this album is beautiful. Can't believe there's only a couple of reviews!

Cassidy Is my mothers favourite artist and she would always play her songs around the house, I never used to take much notice of It but I thought I'd go on iTunes and listen to her albums and I have become an instant fan of her music. I would list my favourite songs, but that would be impossible as I love each and everyone of her songs.

I am amazed that no one on itunes hasn't reviewed this absolute masterpiece. Described as having the best voice of her generation, every single song on this album is deeply moving, that touches your heart and soul. Each track is emotionally charged with quite simply breathtaking vocals. Absolutely stunning heartwrenching and heartbreaking songs, like the self titled album song Songbird. Yet other heartbreakers like Time Is A Healer and the bluesy, gospel track Like Oh, Had I A Golden Thread. Then the stunning rendition of her version of Over The Rainbow, which is quite simply the very best version of this song that I have ever heard, from any solo female Singer/Songwriter on planet earth. Simply put this song was designed and written in the stars above for her to sing. It's as simple as that really. Quite simply put an essential addition to anyone's music collection. ANYONE WHO TRULY LOVES MUSIC WOULD CERTAINLY OWN THIS DISC. WITH A DOUBT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEYOND WORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
