Magical, personal, heartfelt.

This type of music really should be a bit sickly for a 43 year old bloke but I absolutely love this album and must easily have played it 100 times as I write this.
Comparisons to La Bush? Kate is queen of the universe, Laura is yet only a princess.....
But if you like Kate you'll like this. It works musically, lyrically and it's a fine warm & cosy place to retreat to.
Excellent very English album that I am sure will stand the test of time.

There's always one...

What a GEM!!!
I came across this album purely because my flat mate was downloading music on my account (cheeky bugger!)... and for once he downloaded something that was worth listening to... worth listening to? Nay... How rude... He downloaded possibly one of the most beautiful albums I have ever listened to... deep, soulful and moving.
I'm not sure I could ever get bored of this... and her voice ... WHAT A VOICE!!!
Thank you for making this album... whoever you are...

I keep coming back to this...

This is a fabulous album performed by a singer with a to-die-for voice that reminds me of Kate Bush at her most lyrical (in fact, I'd go as far as to say Kate without the shrill bits). Blue Roses will not disappoint: it's an album for happy melancholics and late nights and firesides...

Makes me think of sitting on a hill in Cornwall :)

I LoVe this album; last night i was randomly clicking on alternative or singer/songwriter artists, and thank god I was because I managed to find this little gem :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE "I am leaving". The songs are peaceful but meaningful, I definitely recommend this album, at least buy one song :) :)
I should be doing my homework....>_<

True Genius

Up to now there is very little, if anything, released this year that comes close to this album.
A true great album and one that I personally cannot atop listening to.

Not that good

Downloaded this due to the reviews and although for a debut its a remarkable achievement the voice does shrill and coo at times leaving you after several tracks wanting to switch off. The album has been linked to Kate Bush recordings, don;t quite see the link myself. Not an album I will playing anytime soon.

Nice to see some exposure.

Been a fan for quite a while now and it's nice to see her music getting the recognition it deserves. Calming music which feels more genuine than most out today. It would seem obvious to compare her to other woman folk singers, but this is unique and should prove itself without comparison. If you're only going to buy one album this month, this should be it.
