Like many, I am an avid Regina fan and thus appreciate all the different forms of music she has catered for:- wrap, pop, folk, anti-folk, rock, country, and so many countless others. In this album you have the rocking, almost ballad like, 'eet' and the fun 'jamming' quality to 'The Calculation', yet there are the classic Regina songs that remain nearly untouched, but perfect gems of her talent- 'Wallet' is one such example; thus this album even caters to the 'purists' amongst Regina fans; those who preferred her 'Kitsch' material as opposed to the produced 'Begin to Hope'.
Regina had toured for three years after the release of the highly successful 'Begin to Hope', and now, after the three years of touring, she has produced (with the assistance of several highly acclaimed producers, including Jeff Lynne) 'far'- with a "little f".
Regina has combined new with old in this stunning masterpiece, taking familiar songs that her fans love- Time is All Around, Dance Anthem of the 80's, Man of a Thousand Faces, Folding Chair, Genius Next Door and Human of the Year- and newly created nuggets of musical genius, and blending them into an album.
Regina surely deserves a top 10 hit with her moving 'Laughing With' toying with concepts of religion (something that runs deeply through many of the songs) yet Regina, in many interviews has stated she is merely 'thinking aloud' and not developing a manifesto of what she thinks in regards to religion.
In short, this album has received great positive reviews and is surely set to launch this wonderful musician into the mainstream where her true talent belongs- effectively upstaging most artists in the top 10/ or top 40 presently.
Don't hesitate to buy this fantastic piece of art, as the money would be well spent- not a single penny wasted.
