Phil Thornton has produced an album that takes the whole bellydance/tribal sound to a new level !

many of the tracks here were written with Tribal dancers in mind - Bay city shimmy even has 2 versions at different tempos to suit different styles. Overall its quite an uptempo album with lovely mood changes along the way !

THis is the penultimate Thornton album. Brimming with eastern promise. Bellydance friendly yet easily accessible to those looking for an eclectic hour of great music. Phil has journeyed long and far to bring us an album of pure joy. Excllent!

This album is full of bellydance friendly tracks ! Whilst being obviously aimed at American Tribal Style there is a wide enough scope to please traditional and fusion dancers along side listeners with no interest in bellydance !

The compositions are well crafted, self contained worlds full of layered interest. More up tempo than much of Phil Thornton’s previous material the album features a well balanced mix of electronica, eastern european folk, ethnic instrumentation / vocals and Phil’s trademark performances and ‘soundscapes’.

Phil Thornton's 'Nexus Tribal' is definitely the best tribal album I've heard this year - not a single duff track or any 'filler', just beautifully crafted and well produced tribal style tunes. Beautiful vocals add to the overall quality. The whole cd simply radiates energy. Don't listen to while driving - you'll cause an accident trying not to dance in the car!
