Great Album

This is a great album and it just seems to get better with every listen. Just got back from seeing them live and it makes you appreciate the songs even more. Definately a good follow up to Cease to Begin which was also a brilliant album.

Why do I like this album.

Truth be told, I really shouldn't like this album as in many ways it's quite bland. For some reason though, I just can't stop listening to it as the songs are just so infectious but I can't put my finger on why. Could be the melodies, could be the vocals or perhaps it's simply the two things put together. Happily confused however, enough to have just booked tickets to see them in Manchester next year.

Glorious

You can draw many lines to other groups or artists who've hit the spot with close harmonies & that jingly jangly soft rock/pop sound. The first track is an absolute dream for an opener & pretty much sets out the stall for the rest of the album, with no real chorus just an instrumental that washes over you. Some heavier tracks but the majority are Beach boys-esq "lets go surfin" type material.

HIGHLY LISTENABLE

We are getting too hooked on herding music into 'genre' pens which is a pity as it runs the risk of putting people off listening to those artistes categorised in a genre not usually followed by those music buyers.
It matters not a tad that Band of Horses are labelled as 'Rock', 'Country', 'Folk' or if in doubt 'Alternative', what does matter is that as many people as possible should listen and appreciate a fine band, playing fine music and producing a great album of highly listenable enjoyment.

Buy it, its a grower!

I was a little bit despondent when I first bought it. I absolutely loved the last two albums. But like all music, I gave it a second listen, then a third etc etc
There are some great songs on here, nearly all of them. Great 3 part harmonies in lots of points, especially in "Older". Really suits the vibe of the album
Infinite Arms brought to you by a maturing 'Band of Horses', but this is not a bad thing in my mind!

Pretty good

I'm a good fan of Band Of Horses and this is one of their better albums. Although none of these songs quite meet the standard of their previous top songs: See The Funeral

Under-rated brilliance.

Band of Horses are one of those bands that have been under the radar of mainstream music for a while now. Personally I'm all the happier for this. Like a secret that only a few people know, untainted by popular culture, BoH are a hard working talented band that have produced some of the best songs to come out of the US in the past few years. The Funeral, The Great Salt Lake, There is a Ghost, No One's Gonna Love You, Detlef Schrempf and Marry Song are all wonderfully beautiful songs from their back catalogue that any lovers of this album would be a fool to miss out on.
Infinite Arms, doesn't disappoint. It's a focused tight affair with all the BoH trademarks. Coming in as a cross between Neil Young, The Eagles and The Beach Boys, BoH have a great Americana sound without sounding mundane and sipid.
Excellent.

Loves it!

Saw the band on Jools Holland and thought I'd get the album on that performance. I wasn't disappointed. Great album all the way through. One of those rare albums that you don't have to skip one single song. The tempo of the album is nice and mellow and is a perfect listen if you want to chill out. I just love the melodies, reminds me of The Eagles and The Beach Boys in places which can only be a good thing. Next stop for me is to check out their previous two releases!

UK thoughts

never gonna reach the dizzy heights of Everything All The Time but a few stand out tracks here - Blue Beard pushes their vocal harmonies to a new level which is great to hear. It's apparent that there's a heavier influence from the keys player which again isn't a bad thing. I think they should try and steer away from the jingly jangly tracks and concentrate on heartbreak as this is what this guy's voice was born to do.... I like the country edge that this delivers as well - All in all a decent effort... they could have been the Fleet Foxes of five years ago if they'd focussed on their roots a little better which is a shame, massively underrated band in general.

Infinite Charms

This album is great. Lovely harmonies, chiming guitars and superb songs. Bought the two previous albums on the strength of Compliments and Factory alone.
I think this is more mellow than the previous albums and brings to mind Fleet Foxes, Flaming Lips, Beach Boys and Neil Young. A pretty, pretty, pretty good combination!
Best album of the year so far!
