I love this album and I love to listen to the whole album and the music is really good, not going to lie.

Again another flop factor disaster. Can't write his own material and people have forgotten about him

I really enjoyed this album, most of the tracks are amazing! My favourites are The Climb, Ambitions, Real Late Starter, Fahrenheit, and Love Is War. I would have preferred an album with more ballads and songs like Joe performed on The X Factor. This album doesn't showcase Joe's voice well but I still think the album is very good.

Yes Syco did take Joe in the wrong direction but this album is amazing and a year on, I still listen to it all the time. All of the songs are great and catchy. Joe is so lovely and extremely talented!

I was abit disappointed with the direction syco decided to take Joe in and get him involved with so much autotune like whaat?! Joe doesn't need autotune, he has a naturally beautiful and powerful voice anyways which he's proven by not only winning X Factor but also Popstar To Operastar, but I do like this album, it's good and has some very catchy songs on ~ which are even better when he sings them live (naturally beautiful & powerful voice *cough*).

I'm so glad joes now got a new record label that appreciates his talent as much as his fans do.

There are so many different styles on this album, it feels so nice to listen to.

Don't quite understand all the 1 star reviews from people who've obviously not bought the album, if you're not a fan of his then you might not like it, no point in slating it.

Aw Simon Cowell went and groomed himself a little Mika! Approximately two years after we decided that one Mika is one too many. No wonder this flopped. Every track sounds the same too, why put synth effects over a vocal that is clearly raw and theatrical?? On EVERY track?? Stupid. Way to alienate every fan he accrued during the xfactor.

Someone Wake Me Up is a good song, but I already have Taylor Swift's Love Story so I don't need to buy it. Coz they're the same.

I like the fact that he did something unexpected and different, I think it really paid off but I respect that his music might not be everyone's cup of tea. I agree that the songs don't do his voice justice but the songs are really good so everyone give him another chance and buy the album! :D

He will come with this album and it will probably be his last coz it didn't get no.1 not a good album though

I think some of the songs are good, but I am disappointed if I'm honest.

I love this album all the songs are amazing, especially Real Late Starter (very scissor sisters), someone wake me up, the climb and pretty much all of them! Joe is an amazing singer. This album should be soooo much more successful. He has not been given a real chance by the media and many have discredited him instantly. I say give Joe a chance and purchase this album. I don't think you will be diappointed. It's fun, fresh and funky. A really uplifting album.

I loved Joe on the X-Factor, he was great doing ballads with big notes, but this stuff just annoys me.

He has an incredible voice but he's using it on disco music that the majority of people who voted for him don't by.

this is an amazing album! definitely worth the money! when i heard joe sing his album in front of me he sounded exactly the same as he did on the album which means his voice hasn't been autotuned unlike most other singers:)

- What a shock this album was, not a ear splitting ballad in sight, instead Joe shows his fun side by showcasing tracks that are guaranteed to get everyone singing along.

I am glad to see a different side to him, and after having this abum pre-ordered since the night he won, i was not disappointed!

Just hope peoples pathetic negativity regarding stories in the press dont affect how well this album is received.

that is all this album is, not what I like personally but a good voice he does have. However he is so boring and uninteresting I cannot help and think what is the point? The album is outdated and its brand new! the songs do nothing for me, the only passable song is track 2, only just though!

The production of this album is great, the 'Superman' cover is a nice take on the original though there may be too many covers. The vox of Joe can be improved for recording purposes which is a skill this young man will develop over time but this is a very fun and upbeat pop album which serves it's X Factor audience. Not the best for your X Factor collection and unfortunately weaker than previous winners, but will complete the set awkwardly alongside Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis. Definitely some potential and a good effort for his first attempt!

DId someone really claim this is better than Thriller. Get a grip - manufactured pop, Joe will be in the West End in 12 months and then nowhere in 18. Dreadful....

I've not got anything against these X Factor acts, if anything I just feel sorry for them. Simco, Cowell and who ever produces these songs should be put down. People like Shayne Ward and Joe McElderry can sing but giving them crap songs to sing is never going to help their long term career. Terrible, terrible tunes. They will both be out of the public view within a year at this rate. Give them a chance or dare I say, let them have more of a choice themselves cos leaving it to the so called pro's is gonna kill them

Every song on this album is great, especially 'Superman' and 'Wide Awake', and 'Someone Wake Me Up' is one of the best songs I've heard for awhile.

I bought this album as soon as it came out and I haven't been able to stop listening to it since, I just love Joe's voice :)

I am a big fan of Joe`s and have been since his first X factor audition. To be honest it is not as good as I hoped but that`s more of a production style issue than a reflection on Joe in my opinion. I think this is one of those albums that will grow on you. I was a bit unsure with the first single being all voice electronically messed with (too much of that going on right now, Joe can really sing and I for one want to hear his voice) but there are some good tracks on this album and I think Superman could be a huge hit. It should be his next single. I also love Fahrenheit which reminds me a bit of some of the 80`s music. Worth buying. I hope however that Joe gets the breaks he diserves. The album and single don`t seem to be holding position in the chart in the way he deserves and I hope to hear some more stuff in the future that shows what he is capable of like when he sang Don`t Stop Believing which I am still humming and is still in the singles top 100 chart (Journey`s Version) after it`s revival sparked by Joe`s version. I would love to hear those ballards he recorded before the album went down this track. Don`t get me wrong though I appreciate he wants to do some lively stuff as he is young but I want to know it`s his voice I am listening to. All in all though I would buy again and wish Joe well for the future.

I added joe mceldery's album streight to my wish list. Got a few more album and songs that i wanted to get. I then came back and listend to the songs. First one......im shaw it will get better. Sixth one......ok this sounds nothing like the joe that won the x-facter. tenth song......WTF! ive waited a whole fricking year and he comes out with this crap!!!!! There not his songs, Its not his voice! I removed it from my wish list streight away! The eleventh song.......i know its not his song but its his voice and it suites the song, I love this song but the rests are awful. Lets get some real "you music" yeah joe? write a song or two!

A great and unpredictable album from one of the best male young voices in the UK in my personal opinion. It's a great feel album with a element of Scissors Sisters influence in it. Love it. Although I would like to hear a nice ballad showing Joe's real vocal abilities.

Good for Joe going against expectations of an album full of ballads that would have been slated.

Enjoyable and uptempo album!

Only quibble is I wish they'd laid off the heavy production on some tracks.

I'm not normally a fan of the whole x factor thing but this album is different and quite unexpected. Good piece of work :)

I do quite like the new sound that Joe's trying out but I think there's too much synth and computerisation going on. Joe's got such an incredible voice as it is!

I especially like Superman but I'd really like at least one ballad on here! It would make the album very much more Joe.

This is such an excellent album. The best songs are definitely 'Someone Wake Me Up' and 'Fahrenheit'. They HAVE to be singles. Really class. I'm really happy I bought the album. Most take a few listens before you like them, but this album is instantly likeable with not a bad song on the album. If you like pop music, you will be so pleased with this album. It's really exellent. Well done Joe! :)

It's terrific to hear Joe's voice again. I love this album and it makes me feel good every time I hear it all. Catchy and addictive!

Back and after listening to every single track, this lad has got one amazing debut album. Ambitions shouldn't have been the first single it should be been Fahrenheit or Feel The Fire. So many fabulous dance tracks like the two previously said and one amazing big ballad; Superman!

This album has him saying this is me and I hope you like it. I love it and so proud of the boy from Newcastle! This album is even better than Alex or JLS debut albums put together.

I love this album. I'm a big fan of Joe and think wide awake is such a brilliant album. Every song is amazing and could all be hit singles. The album is diverse, I really hope it gets to number one. Joe deserves all the success in the world.

I have to admit, I'm not so much an X Factor fan, but this isn't too bad at all!

I have to say though - 'Real Late Starter' HAS to be the album's best song and it's a cover of a Nerina Pallot song - check the original version out - it's amazing! She's an amazing talent yet doesn't have Simon Cowell behind her - such a shame.

He sounds like Kylie, not great album and doesn't deserve number 1. it's all a bit too much autotune no natural voice there, may get a 2nd album but will end up like Leon Jackson, whose debut album was a lot lot better than this

I was slightly disappointed when I heard there would only be 11 songs, half of them being covers, but they are far better than the originals and the other half of the album is even more awesome. Joe was by far my favorite on X Factor last year and I'm glad he won. This album has left me wanting more! I don't think it's fair that Syco don't promote him as much as the runner-up though so I kind of wish he came second (and the hate campaign last christmas would have been against Olly instead haha).

This is a great first album from Joe! I have been highly anticipating this album for many months and it has lived up to my expectations, a mix of slower and more up tempo numbers which show off Joe's vocal abilities well.

Only gripe is sometimes his vocals appear drowned out by either backing vocals or by the track. He certainly doesnt need to be with a voice such as his. Someone Wake Me up and Superman and Love is War are great songs.

I'm disgusted that he's been away for a whole year and come back with an album full of songs that arn't even his. For the better versions listen to Nerina Pallot - Real Late Starter and Uncle Kracker - Smile and Donkeyboy - Ambitions.

I love this album, its not a typical first album coming straight from x factor and I could listen to every single song again and again, actually ive had the physical album since saturday and ive played it ovwer 80 times in 3 days.

It feels like we've had such a long wait for this album but - wow - so worth the wait!

Up until now, Take That's 'Beautiful World was my all time favourite album. It's now been superseded by Wide Awake. There's not a single track I dislike on it (even the 'bonus' Climb!) though I do have my favourites: Superman (for the sheer beauty of his vocals), Someone Wake Me Up and Real Late Starter.

A real joy to listen to and a debut album that Joe should rightly be proud of.

What a voice, so distinctive. He deserves good reviews for this album..... a star in the making, Superman is just a great song, really enjoyed this album with the headphones on, the quality of his voice is superb

alot of people would have criticised him if he came out with an album full of ballads, but when people heard ambitions they criticised the song for not being a typical ballad...

hes actually trying something new and more upbeat because it suits him and is what he wants to do, so people need to give joe a chance because he deserves that opportunity!

I pre-ordered this album so I got it early and it's actually amazing! I am a huge Joe fan, but deep down I thought it would be just slow songs. How wrong I was! Up beat album with a few slow songs (which are brill) like 'superman' but the best ones are 'Real late starter' and 'Somebody wake me up'. Buy this! It's an epic album, joe should be very proud of this :) xoxo

Wow, what can I say. Great stuff Joe. Such a feel good album. There is certainly something for everyone here. From the uptempo dance tracks to the ballads, it's all here, and you're sounding fantastic as usual.

Brilliant album. Joe has done well here. He's shown he's not just a tv talent show winner. This will please his fans and attract new ones too. An album full of great songs, and Joe is a proper star for 2010.

Maybe Ambitions isnt a great single, actually, its the weakest song in the album, but all the other 9 new songs are pure gold! And The Climb is perfect! Please, just listen it and buy it before you say is crap-Try listen to Fahrenheit, you'll love it

I loved AMBITIONS! and then it charted only at no.6! so i sorta thought this would be an album i would adore but would sorta flop. I was wrong, the songs are quite average and it may still flop. I wanted Stacey to win....

I am so so excited to get this, from what I've heard the tracks are AMAZING, there's a range from balads to uptempo I would strongly recommend this is to ANYONE <3 xxxxx
