First 7 songs are great but after that the album’s pretty boring

Quite simply one of the best albums ever created. Incredible highs which keep pulsating throughout the album giving you a real sense of positivity and energy and belief that mankind can take on the world

This album has the sort of songs that make you feel good about yourself. I can't listen to any other album apart from this one in the summer. I love the vintage vibe that they're pulling off here! "The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala" is my favourite song on the album, I think it's the most underrated and unheard of song that they have, it's definitely one of my favourites of all time! They deserve more credit for it! The harmonies on this album are pretty simple and not offensive to the ear, nor are they genius. Nothing new to hear in the harmonics really. However the lyrics are simply what you'd expect from Alex. Exceptional.

Arctic Monkeys are just consistently genius at what the do.

The songs on here are a lot poppier, for want of a better phrase, than the rest of there stuff. But, still, a brilliant album.

It’s one of my favourite albums.

The title's for all the nay-sayers - this IS a great album - the opening 2 and closing 2 tracks are worth the admission fee alone - I agree, this is a change from the first few albums, but then people moan when a band sticks to the same tried and tested formula a la AC/DC and criticise when they try something different - What would have been the legacy of the Beatles had they just recorded a different version of Please Please Me year after year?? Come on, buy something a little different - you'll probably find you actually love it!

I love the Arctic Monkeys. They are literally awesome and I love them so much

Seems like Arctic Monkeys went into this album with a specific sound and I think they pull it off really well! Songs like That's Where You're Wrong and Reckless Serenade evoke 1960s slow-dance rock tunes. Sure they've lost a bit of edge but it's a ton better than the dull AM and weird Humbug.

My favourite AM album by a mile

The beautiful, poetic lyrics teamed with the Monkeys thrashing guitar riffs make this a top album. Love it.

This album is amazing, it achieves what it set out to achieve by changing the whole arctic monkeys style and if you approach this with an open mind you will enjoy it. If you don't and you come expecting something like their first 2/3 albums, then you will be disappointed. It will grow on you and you won't be able to stop listening

Very different sound compared to the first 2 albums however it is absolutely amazing, Alex's vocals are much better than on previous albums. Would recommend

This album is nowhere near as good as Whatever people say I am, most of the songs seem a bit slow, and not as much aggressive beats, which I like in the first album.

After an experimental album in 'Humbug' (the experiment being the lack of quality tunes) it's a huge relief to see them coming back to their brilliant style, however not quite at the same levels as their first two. Can't wait for the fifth album!

To be fair it was going to be hard to top the past three albums, but i was a little dissapointed by this album, theyre capable of alot more and i cant say i enjoy many songs from this album.

It isn't the same as their first albums, but it might grow on me...

Really enjoy this album, but after a few listens I was struck by how much it sounds like a Morrissey record? Not a bad thing at all in my book, but I can see why some think its a bit "safe". I actually prefer it to their earlier stuff though!

I think that this album is one of the best they have done to date and if the continue in this vein then I can wait too see what comes next from them.

They are an absolutely brilliant band and are so talented, which is rare at the moment. But, their previous albums were so good I have to say this personally let me down a little...I found this album boring -although it pains me to say it- the bar was set pretty high though, and they are clearly capable of so much more. None the less it does grow on you!

Great melodies and hooks, doesn't beat humbug for me but is up there. Worth a listen definitely!

When I first listened, apart from Don't Sit Down I thought it was all a bit... Meh. A year or so later, I love it - best tracks are Piledriver Waltz, Black Treacle, She's Thunderstorms

Really disappointed with this album, after the three previous albums which are amazing, I was expecting this album to be of the sane sort of standard. After listening to it I would have to say this is possibly the worst album I have listened to, the whole album seems to sound pretty much the same except library pictures, this song being the only song on the whole album worth really listening to.

i thought there is somethings wrong ….

but after released the album…. my mind was changed by the music.

I love Arctic Monkeys so much.

I love the Monkeys and this album is continuing their trail of catchy, new-take-on-good old fashioned rock'n'roll. Don't Sit Down.. is definitely the highlight of this one, and Black Treacle shows a more relaxed, slower side to them. Just good stuff!

Probably the worst album I've heard in my life from the most arrogant band I've ever seen in my life. The songs are boring and lazy and sound as though no real effort has been put into them. It's a shame considering their first 2 albums were quite good.

My favourite album of theres, just because there not singing about night clubs and taxi's doesn't mean they've lost it. The sliw songs are the best for me.

Without a doubt the best British band around at the moment, people have started to go off them complaining that their originality had been lost, but come on, bands change and get influenced by other artists! Overall it is an incredible album and otherwise shouldn't be said just because they've altered their style 

Good album, The first half is fantastic but the 2nd half gets a bit too slow. A few more quicker songs would be nice!

First saw and heard this band when they played 'I bet you look good.....' live and the don't believe the hype quote from Alex. It's a good job most of us did as all 4 albums have been top drawer in there own right. You can hear the 1st change of sound halfway into favourite worst nightmare and then Humbug evolved again.

This is a band that have now matured into what we thought they would be, which is the best British act since 4 Scousers started playing together se time ago. If you don't like the last 2 albums, that's fine - you've got half a dozen Oasis ones to listen to over and over!!!

its got everything - rock song, love rock song and a bunch of amazing lyrics songs, i prefer this arctic monkeys to the old one. they just get better :D :D :D

This album has more of a jump in sounds than the clear progression of their previous albums, but its still an excellent album whether or not you want to compare it to the others

My favourite album AM have put out. Those complaining about there bring no "hits" so to speak, AM have grown up - get over it. If they just pandered people who want them to return to their earlier style they wouldn't be being true to themselves.
