Velociraptor! was the first album by Kasabian that I had listened to in full and when I did I was completely stunned. "Let's Roll Just Like We Used To" starts the album of in a delightfully psychadelic fashion that lightens up your mind beautifully. "Days Are Forgotten" continues on carrying a simple riff and a brilliant chorus, "Goodbye Kiss" is a melancholic beauty with lovelorn lyrics and subtle guitar and "La Fee Verte" allows mastermind Serge Pizzorno to show off his vocal chords to astoundingly bizzare effect. Afterwards the explosive title track punches you unexpectedly in the ears, shining with garage riffs, very english vocal delivery from Tom Meighan and an overall feeling of "I didn't see that one coming", then the unashamedly eccentric "Acid Turkish Bath (Shelter From The Storm)" kicks in with pounding violins and spaced out vocals, cementing itself as one of Kasabians' more progressive tracks. Processed beats and synthesised soundscapes follow in "I Hear Voices" which provides a very nice contrast between tracks, "Re-Wired", one of the standout tracks, mixes Meighan's Gallagher-esque vox with a hard-hitting beat to create the perfect alternative rock song. "Man Of Simple Pleasures" brings a sound perfect for a recovering alcoholic's defiant drive into a new life, "Switchblade Smiles", the star track on this album, shows Kasabian in their true colours, which is an amazing thing to behold, with devilishly masculine synths, Pizzorno's otherworldly wail and a riff and beat to match, it is truely a stunner, The LP ends with "Neon Moon", a gorgeous song with Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" written all over it. A perfect end to a perfect album. 10/10
