The Lomax field recordings provide a connection with a lost way of life and at the same time manages to capture a collective soul. This album is one of many recently released in MP3 and if that is your format of choice that's ok. The vinyl version adds something but that might be my musical snobbery coming out. The music on this album is a delight and sends shivers up my spine. Here you will find stuff to dance to, to sing along to and stuff that makes you feel so bad. The human spirit is alive and well on these recordings. If you feel the need to follow current tradition and buy X Factor singles then that's ok as it is all down to personal choice. If you want to experience the depth of the human spirit then you are more likely to find it here.
