Very under stated but perfect !

I bought the album based on the single Barton Hollow, and going on some positive reviews. Often a mistake! I should probably have listened to all he tracks and just downloaded the ones I liked, of which there are a few. A bit melancholic in general, would have liked s few more upbeat tracks. As is always sensible, listen before you buy to make sure YOU like it, rather than going on what others say. Certainly competent musicians/singers, though.

This is a fantastic album. So beautiful, soulful and classy. If you love music that hits you in the heart, you won't be disappointed by this album. My faves are Barton's Hollow, To Whom it May Concern and I've Got This Friend although to be fair there isn't a song I don't like. Gorgeous melodies, harmonies and lyrics. Buy it today!

Here we are in 2012 and I can't believe I am going to say this! These guys bring something completely new to the music scene! The melodies, the harmonies and the lyrics defy comparison. They are a class act - saw them live in Manchester. They deserve all the success they are sure to get. I love Adele and I love her even more for introducing me to The Civil Wars!

I knew The Civil Wars were good, but then I bought this album and I can say they are INCREDIBLE. It's so amazingly beautiful. Buy it. I guarantee you'll fall in love with them.

Haunting and amazing every song paints a picture. Great live too... so them at Royal Albert Hall when they supported Adele

I heard these this morning on the television news and had to listen to more, they are incredible, the music is outstanding.

Just heard The Civil Wars on the breakfast telly news and had to buy it straight away. Barton Hollow sounded beautiful and a live, acoustic Billie Jean was spellbinding.

Such a beautiful album, their voices together is mesmerising. Such a good album.

Would have given 4 and a half stars, but only because listening to them recorded isn't quite as magical as listening to them live. Still pretty magical though.

Heard the title track on the radio and had to find out more. A brilliant band, love the vocals, so hypnotic. Love the cover of Billie Jean too, makes it sound so original.

Even without vocals these songs are amazing my favourites, "Barton Hallow", "The Violet Hour" and "20 Years"

Saw these on Jools Holland a few months ago & they were amazing. The album is amazing too. Buy it if you love music that speaks to your soul. 5 well deserved stars.

The level of passion and beauty they put into their music is incredible. There voices blend so well together which just makes listening to them such a joyful experience. A friend of mine introduced me to "Barton Hollow" and literally the moment they opened there mouths with there pitch perfect harmonies I was sucked in.

Undoubtedly a band to watch for 2012.
