Rocks your socks off!

I'm glad to see see Slash back with a proper band setup. Whilst I loved Velvet Revolver on the whole, I never felt that Scott Weiland was the right man for the job. No such issue here though as Myles does a fine job as Slash does what he does best!
A fine rock album and not a bad track in sight. All killer and no filler!

Slash is who inspired me to pick up a guitar and start playing, that was 4 years ago and he still inspires me! Great album, my favorite guitarist and my favorite vocalist!!!!!

Slash is still one of the best!

Myles' voice and Slash's style compliment each other perfectly.
Personal favourites: "Bad Rain" and "You're a Lie"

Delivered

Just a stunning album, hoped it was going to be like the last (albeit the last wasnt perfect) but it is sooooo much better.
Myles has gotta be the best vocalist around right now and Slash is just a legend.

This will be hard to beat

Surely THE rock album of 2012. The premier guitarist of his generation, a top singer and great rhythm section and a whole bunch of top songs. £8? a steal!

Classic in the making.

Great album with a real retro feel to it. If you're a fan of 80's/90's "real" rock and roll from a true legend, you will love it. Anyone who calls this tedious or predictable most likely weren't even born in the 80's or 90's and should go back to listening to Justin Bieber or Blink 182. For everyone else, buy it, you will not be disappointed.

Slash is still on form

Absolutely fantastic album. Best bit is that as a guitarist myself I bought the classic rock pack so got the 13 tracks plus the two bonus tracks. And have to say every song is brilliant. Mules Kennedy's vocals really fit in with the album due to him being in Alterbridge.

Slash rocks on!

Brilliant album.......! Such a shame that Slash and Axl cant make up there differences and do what every other band is doing right now and regroup just for one last album and tour. This album is made for Axl's pitched vocals and would have mad it complete!

Love to hear Slash play

I like this album, it does sound a little 'EUROVISION', but don't let that fool you, it's all solid work from Slash, Myles, Todd & Brent. 'Not for Me' is my stand out song, but all are good.

Slash

I know all 'bad reviews' say this album is predictable and it's probably sounding like a bit of a broken record, that sums up perfectly what this album is - Predictable. Slash has been doing the same thing for almost 30 years has refused to adapt or experiment (with only one exception - his self titled solo album)... I was hoping for more experiment and variety in this album but unfortunately it contains nothing surprising and absolutely nothing that hasn't been done better before.
If you want to hear Slash just re-listen to his older tunes... You'll find nothing even vaguely new here.

Apocalypse Now & Then

First things first. Slash, Featuring Miles Kennedy, With The Conspirators have not made a new Appetite For Destruction. But in all fairness neither has anyone else for 20 years so, let's just get over that little hurdle.
Second things second. Slash, Featuring Miles Kennedy, With The Conspirators is a naff name for a band. Very un-rock and roll. They're either Slash's band or it's a record by The Conspirators. Either works for me but that looks rubbish on a T-Shirt.
Third things third, the music on this album will delight anyone who paid to hear a genuine heavy rock guitar legend rummage through his enormous bag of tricks and bang out over a dozen of the kind of anthemic rock songs which have been out of vogue since 1989.
Apocalyptic Love opens proceedings with a bombast and screech which compliments Slash's signature style to a T. The serious business of playing a flat out thrash number (One Last Thrill) to show this isn't a hair metal revival comes second but, it's track three that really hits paydirt and gives the denim and leather brigade what they came for. Standing In The Sun is a gigantic rock song in the mould of The Cult, Kiss, Van Halen and Def Leppard in their prime. It's like sunshine in a bag. It makes you want to wind the windows down and drive fast. And that (in my most humble of opinions) is what this sort of record is for.
You're A Lie seems an odd choice for a lead single not because it is surrounded by bigger and better radio friendly choices (which it is) but for the simple reason it sounds the least like a single by the one guy from Guns N' Roses whom everybody still respects. It's an average heavy rock song with a very flashy solo. No More Heroes would have made a far better choice. The sonics are in the same league as Sweet Child O' Mine but it's heavier, angrier and has a weighty chorus which showcases the front man's similar but more accomplished Axl Rose impression while decrying Heroes who "become your enemies" (It's well documented that Miles from Alter Bridge was a huge fan of GNR back in the day).
Dirty Up Your (Halo) and We Will Roam are good old fashioned anthems to misbehavior and touring (two things the whole band are experts on by all accounts) and won't convert any new fans to this sort of thing. Anastasia is a horse of a different colour altogether though (the subliminal message "Anastasia is a horse" was just for lolz \m/). This song is the sort of song Metal fans go gooey in the centre over. It has a classical guitar intro (just like Sabbath and Zeppelin used to do) it has a Dio-esque riff and elements of Alice in Chains. It's old metal and mid 90's grunge with Whitesnake vocals. You're either horrified by that or downloading it already. Anastasia was made for Donington, For Nottingham Rock City, for The Rainbow Bar And Grill and for The Cathouse. Every man woman and child with metal in their hearts and Blizzard Of Ozz in their collection will adore this song.
From here on out there's another 5 tracks of the same to be had. A mix of big riffs, varyingly hooky choruses and a vocalist who sounds eerily familiar but, not quite who you were expecting (for the old school rock fan there are times he sounds like Chris Cornell and others more like Mark Slaughter) all topped off with flair, solos and guitar tricks which justify their existence.
Far And Away is the closest relative to the Adam Levine sung Gotten from the previous album. It's a might power ballad for sure but, this records USP is how the riffs and the solos are all laid out in crystal clear beautifully produced 21st century sharpness. Knowing that this record was recorded live in the studio and sounds this sharp does convince the rock fan of one thing: This may not be a five star classic album in every sense but if this line up sound this good on tour, the shows are going to be amazing.

A-MA-ZING

This record rocks. It's almost a perfect; all tracks are amazing except for 2 in my opinion.
I fell in love with Anastasia in particular; Standing in the Sun and Apocalyptic Love come right behind in my top 3.
Myles Kennedy's vocals are also of high quality.
In my honest opinion, this is the best piece of music released by Slash since Snakepit's album Ain't Life Grand.
If you love Slash, you MUST have it. If you love rock n' roll, you MUST have it.

Rocks from beginning to end

A simply amazing album. Slash's legendary skill with the guitar works perfectly with the vocals of Myles Kennedy. For me this is the best rock release since Foo Fighters 'Wasting Light' last year. Can't wait to see it live at Download! Stand out tracks for me 'No More Heroes', 'Anastasia' and 'Apocalyptic Love'

Awesome Myles!

Top rock album, some catchy songs and some not as catchy! Myles's voice is the best in rock...has been since 2004, still no where near the level of Alter Bridge but still a solid album!
