So underrated

This is the best rap album i've listened to in a very long time, there isn't a bad song. Although some songs aren't as good as others. The beats are outstandingly consitent and extremely catchy, this guy is so underrated. Real rap.. Buy this album.

Good Come Back From Obie

Despite moving away from shady aftermath and having what has seemed like quite some years off since his last release, Obie has returned with 'Bottoms up'. Firstly, the production across the album is first class; the beats really are exceptional. The feature from Eminem on 'Richard' is worth a listen and is a funny gimmicky track, but really is nothing more; the standout tracks for me are 'Hell Yea', 'Secrets' and 'Battle Cry', as these best display Obie's flow and lyricism. Shady aside, the lack of huge guest features on the album is actually quite refreshing; it shows that Obie isn't relying on his peers anymore, whereas in the classic 'Cheers' they appeared on almost every track, and in a lot of instances, actually overshadowed his own talent. I wouldn't describe Bottoms up as a classic, but it's a very strong effort, and hip hop fans should definitely buy this to support real hip hop!

Obie at his finest

Bottom's Up feels like '90s hip-hop at its best - very soulful, well-produced and lyrically great. Nice to see him doing his own thing without the restrictions the Shady label obviously put on him. A solid 9/10
