All things considered...

Anyone who enjoyed 'The Village Sessions' will surely love this EP. Mayer's problems with granulomas means that he never reaches the highs of the studio versions of the acoustic tracks presented here, instead producing pared-down vocals that are much more laid back and actually makes the EP stand out.
'Go Easy On Me' breaks no new ground, but does show that Mayer has more to offer from this style of music before he inevitably moves onto something new again.
A must have for all fans.

Complete 2012 performances

What a greedy fella! Every release of his comes alongside another either acoustic or live disc. Im sure this lad has made enough money from his tracks. Its nice to offer the fans plenty of material but to resell the same stuff several times is fleecing people my opinion. The songs are good but I already had the originals on born and raised, also £5 is expensive for five tracks. Surely £3 would be more reasonable for a small 5 track EP?

Shame there's not more songs

Loving the acoustic chill, we want more!

Very good.

This is, as usual, a high quality release from Mayer. The recordings sound really tight and well produced. These versions are really lovely - more chilled and more soulful than the album versions. They seem to have a bit more character to them (in a similar way to the village sessions versions of songs from continuum were) and the version of 'something like olivia' here is excellent - very funky (where the original recording to me seems a bit generic - but I could be being a bit harsh)! I really like the new song - it's got a similar vibe to the Springsteen cover bonus track from Battle Studies - but be warned it'll get stuck in your head very quickly… not a bad thing to say I guess!
Hope this helps you decide on this. I am a massive Mayer fan, so may be a bit biased! Every Blessing!

Not enough

As a massive John Mayer fan who loved Born and Raised, I was expecting good things from this.
Go easy on Me is great, but the acoustic versions of the other songs feel very flat and simply are not as good as the album versions.
Sorry to say this, but it's not worth £5. Buy 'Go easy on Me', but i wouldn't recommend the others
