Back in the day I walked into HMV, and the choice was between Nevermind & this.

I bought this.

A 'proper' hard rock record by one of the best British bands of all time. As well as the singles, there are also several album tracks that are impressive also. 'Tennessee', 'Another Invented Disease', 'Condemned...' and 'Methadone Pretty' all fit into this category. However, it does include some filler. For example, 2 versions of 'Repeat', which in my opinion isn't even that good in it's original , as well as 'Natwest...'. However, overall it is a very good album filled with great riffs and oozing swagger, charisma and Welsh arrogance

Simply brilliant. Richey writes lyrics amazingly ( " really now, we will always be/ another invented disease"). Guitars are supercharged, much more so than Gold against the Soul or The Holy Bible. But if they had cut the last 6 songs and put them on the second album then both albums would be better, especially Gold Against the Soul.
