I really believe a song should tell a story, and each of these does that so beautifully.

You'll probably recognise some tracks from movies and TV shows - In The Deep was nominated for an Oscar apparently! - but they stand alone as moving, melodic moments that you just want to close your eyes and savour.

It's one of my favourite albums to listen to in the car, when the sun is shining and you're listening to such a gorgeous voice over those soulful chords, it really does feel like good things are happening all around you.

Of course, good stories also mean sad stories and some of these songs have made me cry more than once. Save Me is just a soft punch to the feelings, every time.

Oh, and some are pretty sexy… Open Wider, Wicked Little High? Yeah, they're part of a perfect soundtrack for a romantic night in, if you need to add to that playlist at any point…

An all-time favourite album, well worth a listen if you demand gorgeous tunes with smart and sensitive lyrics - highly recommended.
