WOW

I <3 death metal bands... They are few and far between these days.
And finding a good one is even harder!
I thought suicide silence was as good as i was going to hear... Then i heard this, insane drums, unrelenting solos and an amazing singer.
Even if you hate death metal... (bmth dosent count)... Give this a try, you wont regret it.

1991!

Oh yes remember that year well! It was an unbelievable year for album releases, infact I dont think there has been a year since that matches it in all genres...however for death metal this was the peak for me...we had Cathedral, Entombed and we had this! Blessed are the sick stood out with those other two for it had great music and great artwork too. I think that was the last great year of album covers, the sort you held the vinyl cover of whilst listening to the music. Yep times were never the same again. It was comforting somehow those days. Classic!

MORBID ANGEL: BLESSED SICKNESS

If you interbred Immolation and Decomposed, this could well be the outcome. Uptempo death throes combined with slower, sludgy, doomful decay have created an album any death metal band today has failed to equal. Forged back when death squads could still unleash originality upon the scene, the few short but sickly sweet instrumental numbers indicated a new scope for the genre that, sadly, few managed to pick up on. Still today, blast drumming and whacking your guitar against the lavvy wall seems to dominate that 'samey' sound in so many recent bands. This album is one of the perfect specimens of what could actually be achieved with a little more thought and effort. Listen, learn and never forget. BLESSED ARE THE SICK!

Classic DM album

Ignore the one star review, who likes such 'acts' as 'Bring Me The Haircut'
This is a classic Death Metal album, great guitar, blood-curdling vocals, amazing drumming
If you like old school death metal, and you don't own this, get it, won't be disappointed

Death metal classic

Ignore the one-star review - this guy obviously knows nothing about death metal. This is one of the true classics of the genre. Ridiculous solos and actual songs, too! Two great guitarists, one of metal's best drummers and a great singer. You like death metal - get this. If you don't, this is reasonably accessible compared to other DM records, so give it a try. PS 'Unholy Blasphemies' - what other kind of blasphemy is there?!
