I've tried to get enthusiastic about this album but am struggling. There is some good songs but I can't help but be put off by the pretentious ambient filler and… and this is the worst part… the diabolical production. Still… an excellent band who're absolutely brilliant live, but this comes at the expense of albums at a reasonably regular rate. 4 years each?

I've seen them live a few times and like the first two albums. Unfortunately the first five tracks on this album are a mess of poly-rhythms that are disjointed and difficult to listen to. The remainder of the album is okay apart from Asymmetry which features one of the most aggravating noises I have ever heard. Not impressed.

I think this album is a grower. When I first listened to it all the way through, only a few of the songs hit me instantly. Of course, tracks like 'The Refusal' and 'We Are' are great because they've been released before the album was out and so I've time to listen to them. But over time, after a few more listens, this is a great album. So, give it time and maybe you'll love it just like me.

Just so smooth, Karnivool has an amazing flow and sync to their songs. Insta-download. You'll love it.

After discovering this band by accident a few years a go on Itunes and Sound Awake becoming my favourite album of all time, I was hoping for a good album! Trawling the net for sound bites, listening to re-runs of Triple J (aussi radio) to hear 3 songs, the tension built!

Finally 19th July arrived and my pre-order landed! I popped the CD in and sat back. First spin, hmm.......

I was left unsure, I liked some of the songs a lot, but some of the more complex/heavier songs didn't take. Spin 2, 3, 4 in the car, the songs slowly sank in and I was drumming on the steering wheel (as best I could) singing away and it was there, all bedding in nicely.

Another great album that doesn't take straight away, initially its hard work. Not as accessible as Themata and Sound Awake, but given time it takes, amazes and thrills! A great album, worth the wait, worth the effort! Enjoy!
