One of his best

I LOVE Mike Oldfield's art and I have to say this is probably one of the best albums I have ever bought. For true escapism this is perfection. I promise you this will be a 10/10 purchase. Enjoy!

Wow

Being a fan of both Mike's older work and Celtic music in general, finding this album was a Godsend. His take on classical Celtic songs are possibly the finest I've ever heard. A lot of his style is present throughout, but it is different enough to his usual it should even please Mike's harshest critics.

Awesome

Another fine album from Mr Oldfield. A fantastic mixture of Pipes, guitars and synths makes this album an absolute masterpiece. BUY IT NOW !!!

magnificent

Anybody giving this album 4 stars or below are the only listening to the 30 second cuts on iTunes. Take the soundtrack to Braveheart or Titanic and add a generous amount of Mike chill and there you have it. Of course iTunes have left out the awe-inspiring, breathtaking, remarkable, picturesque, scenic, exquisite, magnificent, and not forgetting charming, track - 10. Mont St Michel. Put the headphones on and drown in this gorgeous work of art.

addictive

Being a fan of mike's allready I was pretty sure I would like this album and I was not dissapointed, it is a delightful mix of old and new folk songs given the oldfield treatment and is at its best when heard through a good set of headphones to drown out any distractions. Definately reccomended.

Voyage of Discovery ...

This album of Mike's goes back to traditional folk roots, a theme Mike has interwoven throughout most of his works including the mighty 'Tubular Bells'. A beautifully serene album, chilled and relaxed with a celtic ambience which soothes the mind. Some of these tracks are workings of traditional songs, whilst others are of Mike's own composition. A partial album for the exclusion of track ten 'Mont St Michael', which is a shame (and can you answer why do we have partial albums and not the whole thing iTunes?) because it is a trully atmospheric piece full of flutey vibes and melodious acoustic guitar. Music, if you allow it in, which will flow like gentle waters through your whole being. This can only be good for you ... like many of Mike's works.
Sit back, relax, and voyage on a journey of celtic influences and sheer beauty and joy ...

Don't listen to this if liked Mike Oldfield's music so far

I bought every Mike Oldfield album released up to and including this one. Even Earth Moving, which was pretty bad, but a couple of the tracks grow on you. Voyager though is a very bad album and isn't really indicative of Mike Oldfield's otherwise brilliant music.
Buy Amarok instead it's a lot better :)
(just after I bought Voyager I was burgled and the only CD they left was this one).

On dear no!!!!!

What was Mike upto sitting there in his topless Robin Hoods outfit, I'll never know why I bought this album and if could have sampled bits if it like you can now I never would have. A mindless selection of unfocussed celtic type tracks with lots of drums and pipes etc, etc. The only track worth listening to is Celtic Rain which I actually heard played at a funeral. It's a nice track, but kinds of sums up the album really.
