The genius of Marr and the poetry of Morrissey combine to deliver the greatest album ever. There is a Light... and I Know it's Over display the gift that Morrissey has to reach into the psyche of the 'losers in life'. Amazing.

Achingly beautiful, touching, funny
The quintessentially English Smiths were probably one of the most iconic alternative guitar bands of the 1980s. Johnny Marr's brilliant musical arrangements topped off with Morrissey's sometimes serious, sometimes hilarious and ridiculous lyrics refrain a very unique time in eighties Britain. Anti-monarchy Morrissey's opening song lyrics imagine the death of the Queen. My favourite track is Frankly, Mr Shankly with his 'bloody awful poetry.' At times, the melodies and lyrics are downright melancholy, yet in the next breath one can find oneself bursting into laughter at some of the lyrics, as in 'Some Girls are Bigger than Others.'

Boring
Boring drone that is so over rated that it is like watching paint dry, but audio tedium instead
