Disappointed .. and more

Nathan is way beyond wonderful & I had high expectations . I remember Abe Laboriel’s early recordings with Friendship .. and how superb they were .
So … I bought this and ….
101 Eastbound - loses the great bass part of the original and the lovely rhythm guitar / piano part … and the great percussive piano … its the only Fourplay track that I keep .
This is a pointless remake . The piano sounds so digital …. ughh … are there any fingers or keys involved ?
Sir Duke … a totally pointless reworking … fun for the musicians no doubt but adds nothing ….
Moondance - I love Doobies era Mike McD … but he is in danger of being brought on … a bit like Meryl Streep … he over emotes … enough already ! Nice bass part though … generally ; NOBODY should cover this … even Van’s version wasn’t that great !
Cant Find My Way Home …. oh no ! Not another version of this ! Eric’s cliche guitar … Nathan … that lyric belongs in the late sixties & should be left well alone ….
I’m going to look for the good in this … I have bought it after all … but …. so far its awful !
So … so disappointing .
Nathan is a terrific bass player .

Album - Nathan East - released 25th March 2014

This is a really good album. Easy to listen to with a wide range of melodic music from Nathan East and an accompanying orchestra. Nathan yet again shows us all why he he is so highly regarded as one of the finest electric bass players on the world stage. It is difficult to pick a favourite track as they are all excellent. I'm really glad I bought this album. It pleases me.
