Will never be bettered

Innovative funk metal at its finest. Bought it as a 14 yr old in '89 and still fresher than anything out there since then. Tunes that will live with me till the day I die. You must purchase, trust me.

When FNM Rose

This was the first album I ever fell in love with, a true masterpiece, showing just how diverse, stylist yet deeply rooted "rock" bands can be, then of course there was bungle...

Epic

Heard Epic on TV a few times, came across this album and it is amazing, such an underrated band.

The Real Thing

Angel Dust is probably better, but it's not as fun as this one. Great album.

Time Tested...

In 1989 this sounded like the future. In 2010 it sounds like it was 10 years ahead of it's time, but totally classic rock. FNM we're so new, so fresh and so different back then the sight of them sharing the pages of Kerrang! with AC/DC and Bon Jovi was really exciting. Their guitar sound informed Nu Metal, The Keyboards were both a culmination of Industrial and an influence from here on out. Mike Patton's Rapped lyrics have never been matched for avant guard imagery but his style is still being ripped today by shirtless frontmen in baggy shorts to this day.
The three big singles from The Real Thing (Epic, From Out Of Nowhere and Falling To Pieces) are staples of the rock DJ in all the right clubs still. Other album highlights Woodpeckers From Mars, Surprise! You're Dead! and Underwater Love are all worthy of your time too. If you can get the version with their ace cover of Sabbath's War Pigs on the end, all the better.

Wow!!!!

I bought this Album origionaly in November 1989,i dont think it left my turn table for 3 months solid.I reckon i knew just about every single word of very song on it.Theres not a single duff track on this.
My personal 3 favourite songs are (From Out Of Nowhere),(The Real Thing),and (Under water Love)all three completely different but all completely brilliant.

Genius

Sandwiched between the tail end of thrash and the beginning of grunge...along with the Chilis 'mothers milk', Living Colours 'vivid' and Fishbones 'truth and soul'...this was a bolt of fresh air at the time, the crispness of the production and the spine hammering of the rhythm section, especially 'falling to pieces',every song is a classic and the 'war pigs' cover was a funky, pounding masterpiece. Purchase asap...and 'angel dust'...

A True Classic!

What a cracking Album this is. Alternative 90's at its best, although it was released in 89 of course. Its just one bombastic song after another from the excellent "From out of nowhere" to the serene "Zombie Eaters" and of course the unforgettable "Epic", this shows what an impact a truly great band can have. Buy this album now & know your life will be better for it.

Well...

I mean after playing epic in rockband 1 you probably thought it would be good to come check it out (it wasnt)
- epic is about the only good song here
- the added songs are trash
but after saying this people who like this type of music will love it, dont listen to me if you like it.
go get some metallica black album or slayer :D

One of the best albums ever!

This album blew me away when I bought it on release 5 years ago and I still regularly listen to it now.
Classic tracks for me are "From Out Of Nowhere", "Epic" and "War Pigs".

One "Epic" album

One of the greatest albums i have ever had the fortune of hearing. FNM were a huge staple for the sound that rock was leaning toward back in the late 80's and early 90's. It's really not surprising that this band has been a major influence to other bands. The music shreds and Mike Patton's lyrics are obscure and wonderful. I truely recommend this album to anyone.
