BOOOOOOM!

And so the first Molotov Jukebox album launches - and senors / senoritas it does not disappoint.
This has been on repeat on my AppleWalkmanPod since purchase and has added a shimmy to my step walking to work most mornings.
Presuming you've already experienced MJ live (if not blooming do so immediately), it will be no surprise to hear there are some big tequila-tastic tunes on this album that are going to get your Cinco de Mayo parties well and truly slapped around the coconuts! ('Don't Wanna Know' & 'Tropical Bad Boy).
But this is also a very well produced, well written, carnival flower indeed, with some rather beautiful moments. It's not all Mezcal Madness at Molotov Towers. The slower 'Punchlines' and 'Nina' might be my favourites tracks on the album.
Nat's witty lyrics - "You steal my punchlines and my drinks and think I don't notice", Angus's stonking horn arrangements, Adam's delicious chords, Tom's bumping party bass-lines - well it's my album of the year.
Maybe one more bottle of rum for the road!

Love it.

Seriously love this album-Housefire smile, Neon lights and No lady especially. Going to be my summer soundtrack this year.

Dr

Love it! I've never heard this band before but it's a curious blend of modern pop, Latin and Zydeco.
Great orchestration with the brass, Piano accordion and drum backbeat leaping out at you on some of the tracks.
Can't wait to hear them live!

Miss

Brilliant Album, over all bit of a more spanishy than their EPs.
Amazing live performance in London and such a friendly group.

Awesome Debut.

Been a fan of these guys since i saw them at T in the Park 2011 and have been eagerly awaiting an album since. The EP songs released so far have been alright, but clearly the best songs were saved for the album.
Genre wise this album mixes spanish style guitars with eastern european romani inspired jams in great carnival style. Personal favourites include Sexfoot (With it's White Stripes interpolation), Nina (sang in spanish) and Tropical Badboy.
Wasn't expecting this to be a classic or to enjoy it nearly as much as i have, but its utterly brilliant.
