As good in concert as on the album- fantastic

A joy to listen to such talent.

I didn't think they could top "Last", but they have. Another achingly beautiful opus from The Unthanks, with all we've come to expect from them- and more! In turn folksy, bluesy, brassy and jazzy, but always stylish, polished and classy. Hard to pick a highlight when there are so many, but "Magpie" send shivers up the spine, and the title song has a glorious triumphal melody that builds to a magnificent climax. And in a perfect world new single "Flutter" would be a chart topper. Yes, there are 2 weaker tracks, For me, instrumentals without the girls voices just become Nothanks. I'd have left those off and included the single version of "Mount the Air" instead. But with over an hour of music you can easily skip over the slightly less than perfect and still have great value for money. A triumph.
