3 (and a bit) years in the making but well worth the wait. If you only remember the 80's for the pop bands (i.e Wham, Duran Duran etc) then you're missing out. This is completely different from his 2 previous albums of the 1980's, it's slightly poppier and there are a couple of deliberate "singles" (Sledgehammer, Big Time), but the rest is just as good. I don't usually like Laurie Anderson but her collaboration on This is The Picture is superb, Red Rain is a hit single that wasn't, the Kate Bush collaboration Dont Give Up gets better (and more poignant) every listen, Milgram's 37 is weird but oddly listenable, In Your Eyes is another hit single that wasn't, a beautifully sung piece featuring the talents of Youssou N'dour, and Mercy Street and That Voice Again are possibly the weakest songs on the album but still outdo anything from most other albums of the 80's. The best thing is.. if you like this, it's not even his best album (that would be Peter Gabriel 3). Listen and enjoy.

Just buy it!
