However good an app is you will at some point regret the purchase if the customer service is slow or poor. Happy to say I had a problem last week which was sorted out within hours by a very pleasant advisor. Very happy with this app. Keeps all my financial info up to date and is easy and pleasant to use.

I have used this for well over 6 years or so. Couldn’t live without it. But upon changing to the monthly subscription model I feel the app has become bloated and crashes frequently. If they brought back the reliable MoneyWiz 2 I would be interested. Now I’m looking elsewhere.
I’ve been using MoneyWiz since 2013 and recently upgraded to MoneyWiz 3 to link to my bank accounts.
It does all I need it for, including meeting my relatively simple business bookkeeping requirements. It does not however link to all bank accounts I have, which may be more to do with the banks than Moneywiz. For this reason 4 stars.
When I’ve had problems linking their support and responses have been first rate. I have recommended it to friends and family and they have not been disappointed.
It’s very good value for money for what it does.
I have been using various versions of MW over the years following the demise of Microsoft Money on my laptop.
I love the ability of being able to keep track of my accounts across my iPad and iPhone.
Whilst the latest migration to MW3 (non premium) had a few glitches, the support team, as they have been over the years, were brilliant. Would have given 5 stars if not for the glitches and perhaps I just need to be realistic that there will always be the odd bump in the road.
I struggled at first with the update but soon managed the differences. This is really a superb way to keep a check on your finances. The help desk is very quick when responding to problems. Well done to this app
I’ve used Moneywiz for several years and recently updated to the latest version. The app is easy to use, enables me to manage my finances with ease and syncs nicely across multiple devices. I find the reports really useful, these allow me to forecast my finances months in advance, ensuring no surprises. I would recommend this app to everyone, I certainly couldn’t manage without it.
I would also like to praise the developers, who are always quick to answer questions and help when needed.
Does everything I want including being able to forecast my spending.
I’ve been using MoneyWiz for years, it’s an excellent App with great support. Easy to use and clean design but with powerful versatile features.
After the splash screen, the screen just goes completely black. No way to see or do anything. Tried reinstalling, still nothing. Useless.
The app concept is excellent and has developed progressively over the last few years. The only criticism is that updates when they come often introduce new problems. These are always dealt with relatively quickly and MoneyWiz support is very good.
Having been a user of Moneywiz 2 for the past couple of years (previously used Microsoft Money) I was keen to upgrade to the latest version. I am not disappointed, this is definitely one of my favourite apps on my iPhone and iPad.
A nicer look and feel to MW3 than MW2. And the “pending” function has been made more useful
Good piece of kit once you get used to it. Used it for nearly three years. My only issue is the reconciliation system does not follow through from previous reconciliations. All you need to do is input a start and end figure from a statement. Doesn’t retain the end figure from previous statements. Other than that it works for me.
One year on and absolutely signed up to it. Quite happy to pay the annual subscription. Support is excellent and issues resolved with expediency.
Very easy to use and keep track of finances. Bug fixes updated frequently. Where I have had issues they have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend.
Version 3 builds on version 2 nicely with a much better gui and some welcome features, but the investment accounts need work, and it’s not as easy to balance my account as it was on version 2.
Money Wiz is definitely best personal finance app, but not MW3 as it is a huge disappointment compare to MW2,
It is slower and glitchy and full of extra graphic materials
It gives u a headache
I have been a subscriber of this app for many years, and have always loved the ability to track my finances. The latest version doesn’t allow you to sort “oldest transactions to newer” . Doesn’t sound like a deal breaker, but that is the most logical way in my view, mirroring bank statements. You always were able to sort by “ascending or Descending” but no longer. You can on the Mac version, but not on the iPhone/pad app. A review from 2 or 3 weeks ago made the same point, and the ability to sort was promised but has still to be delivered.
Come on MoneyWiz; most of us aren’t looking for the ability to manage Cryptocurrency but sterling (other currencies are available) sort it out and I will go back to 5 stars........
I'm a subscriber, and after being impressed with their new UI update for the iPad app - I also noticed a few bugs had got introduced - which is understandable after such a large overhaul of the app. I'm happy to say (and to see) that lots of updates have been pushed out since this upgrade, and the developers have quietly gone about fixing all of these bugs.
Also, their support has been excellent (as usual) when I've had to contact them with problems, often responding to me on the same day, and always supplying friendly, useful advice. It's one of the reasons why I'm happy to pay a subscription for this software, as well as the fact that it works so well for me.
All-in-all, I like the upgrades the new version has brought and, after a shaky start, the app & UI has slowly but surely got better and more stable with each additional update.
I've been using Moneywiz 3 for a couple of months now — mostly the macOS version. Before that I used Moneywell but support seems to have dried up there and lack of sync to an iOS version had become a bit of a pain. Moneywiz syncs perfectly through iCloud for me. Tech Support seems very helpful and prepared to get involved with non-trivial issues.
Swapped from Money when Microsoft stopped their support, took a bit of getting used to but is a great program and has continued to get better with every new version.
Really good app. Let’s me keep track of most of my accounts in a comfortable way, plan effectively, see how much money should be left on accounts, see all transactions in one place and much more. Overall I really love it.
Remaining big issue is lack of support for Open Banking. They had a lot of time to do that but it doesn’t look like they are interested. I’m sure MW will remain good option for people outside EU and not using scheduled transactions but at that point, paying for it stops making sense.
Much slicker interface and the sync seems more reliable now.
I have used MoneyWiz since 2014 and it has allowed me to manage ten bank accounts and all of my investments very effectively.
I particularly like the ability to enter and review data on iPad, iPhone or Mac and the very efficient data entry process. Reporting continues to improve.
Simple and intuitive. Very easy
I like this app. I had a problem syncing one account, but that got sorted and I believe it was the open banking provider rather than MW. I look forward to further updates and improvements. All in a good app that does what it says.
This is the best finance app I have found on the app store after trying a great deal of others, and it is one of the most-used apps on my iPhone and iPad. It's not cheap - an annual subscription costs £40-£50 - but in my view it represents excellent value if you want to keep a simple, searchable record of your bank, credit card and investment accounts in one place, with automatic syncing across iDevices and a PC or Mac.
The new version (3.1) has a completely new and very attractive UI on the iPhone and iPad (but for some reason not on a Windows PC).
A couple of minor niggles are that it is much easier to import data from other apps than to export it, so once you are using this app it won't be easy to go back again, and the subscription offers a range of capabilities which not everyone will want to use (such as cryptocurrency support and automatic downloads of transactions from banks and credit card suppliers) but the overall package is immensely impressive.
I’ve used MoneyWiz since 2013 and have seen a lot of good and great features added.
With this version, I’m not convinced. Sure the new design is brighter and more colourful, but the icon roundels are massive (size of icons in settings is about right) and certain UX is now lacking; for example, you now can’t create a transaction and switch apps to read details from another app. The create/edit transaction screen just disappears.
Additionally, scroll performance of transactions is janky (even on an XS Max), the statistics tab is bugged (all 0 except liabilities), and some of my scheduled transactions have skipped to the next payment, since the update. Fixable, but not ideal.
And you _still_ can’t set a custom month start date for when you get your salary paid in. I don’t use calendar months because it wouldn’t make much sense, reporting-wise.
So MoneyWiz is not without it's eccentricities - ~and the UI is not sleek~ UPDATE NOV 2018 I take that back, the new interface is awesome. Now it looks as good as it is helpful! This is still a 4 star app for sure and nearly a 5. No other finance app I've seen is as good for budgets. If you want to see a graphic representation of all your budgets in a really customisable way, that rolls over budget totals from month to month, this is the app for you. I have so much more of a clear view of my spending and what I can afford now!
I’ve tried quite a few money apps for iPhone. This is by far and away the best. I use the sync and it helps me budget. And helps me save money which is what it’s all about.
This update is amazing. A real makeover. The app now looks really slick. I love it.
Probably one of my favourite apps and one of the most useful
I had been looking for a Finance app to replace the old Microsoft Money program on my computer. I eventually tried Moneywiz and haven't looked back. Part of the attraction is the ease of use and the syncing between iPhone and iPad. The other attraction is the obvious enthusiasm and dedication of the developers. As I use it to record all my financial transactions I want to feel that it will develop and be around in years to come and, that is how I feel with this product. I subscribe to the Premium version as I believe by doing this I can support and encourage the developers and the future of the product.
I reconcile accounts manually although I understand it can be done electronically. Entering transactions is easy and it is great to be able to enter them as they happen into my iPhone rather than saving up bits of paper to input using a computer. Reporting functionality is useful and it is easy to search for a particular historical transaction.
I thoroughly recommend this app. Support is very good so when setting up or amending the chart of accounts and categories at the start, look at the comments on the website then ask questions.
Been using MoneyWiz for a few years now. Very few issues (two in total) all were responded to within in couple or hours.
I would recommend highly recommend.
The update is a big change, but it feels more modern and looks great on my new iPad Pro. I’ve been using MoneyWiz for about 3 years on a daily basis and I’m glad to see the app is benefitting from investment in its functionality and usability. Some tidying up is needed, but I trust the developers to add things in soon.
I think the new mobile interface is really good, but would like to see percentage used / percentage remaining with regard to budgets
I loved MoneyWiz, I’ve used it for years as it gives me everything I need to manage my finances, but I’ve just opened the app after your UI refresh and I’m at a complete loss! Sorry to say you’ve ruined the user experience. The huge coloured circles against each transaction in the account view detract from the detail making it hard to see everything, the transaction list now seems to take up double the space it did before.
You’ve absolutely broken the reports by putting the charts and transactions on separate pages, as it’s now no longer possible to compare the cash flow on the chart and then refer to the transactions - ie look at a point in time, then scroll to the relevant transactions. Instead I have to look at the chart, THEN go to another tab to look at which transactions affect a point in them, THEN go BACK to the first tab to see the chart to look at another area then go BACK to the other tab and so on! Why change this just for the sake of it, the only improvement is the chart is bigger, but this would have been easily done by simply enabling a zoom in the old report layout!
The side bar has now been split and placed at the bottom - meaning it’s not longer possible to look at scheduled transactions and see your account balances at a glance - instead the user has to click on a tab at the bottom and go backwards and forwards between views - a needless change as the previous sidebar worked! Why not just have a switch to turn the sidebar on and off?
Guys, please don’t give a simply reply of “customer feedback” as usability testing and feedback is sorely lacking here! Please tell us you’ll fix this!
Ever since my MoneyWiz 3 updated to the newest version (yesterday) it does not start...it just tries to launch and then immediately goes back to the home screen??? Can you please do a bug fix?
What has happened to the forecast calendar with the latest update? One of the best features and I cannot find it!🤔
The syncbits service really bothers me. It’s expensive and the uk banking connectors I use always create duplicate transactions. I am also not convinced about the security at all. This is fancy subscription service that I have barely used and not interested to renew. By the way, you have reviews for this app on both v2 and v3 and you also have another app for v2? This is all very confusing in terms of reviews and ratings
This is by far the best money management available. It is so easy to use and flexible for everyone's needs.
Customer support is excellent, and quickly address any users queries.
Signed up to a months trial of this app, it stopped working after 2 weeks. The developers told me to reinstall etc, solved the problem for 2 weeks but hey, just after they’d taken my (very expensive) years subscription in advance, it failed again. Now no faith in it and demanding my money back.
I have tried MoneyWiz 3 after using Money wiz 2 happily for years and it is excellent. It does provide a lot more functionality . This naturally comes at a cost. I tried the months free trial and whilst I liked it I I am not really a power user and could not justify the subscription cost. I emailed the developers and they reverted me back to my old account within hours. Give it a try for a month before committing yourself.
Sadly Mark’s review on the 26th June is spot on. This is a step backwards made worse by the fact that it does not even feel like a finished product. I have been a huge fan of Moneywhiz since v1. Their reply to keep using v2 does not stand as they won’t develop it any further so it’s just delaying the inevitable. If v3 is the future they need to have an emergency meeting because it does not work and the subscription is not worth it. Thanks for the free trial but I’m cancelling my subscription. Sad day. Might be time to look at the next best thing out there. Nothing lasts forever as they say
I’ve been using MoneyWiz for years - always standalone having tried Premium subs twice and confirmed they add no value to me - but the new release timeline and upgrade paths for MW3 must have been conceived by committee. You won’t find a more confused and convoluted path in any other app. Like many others, online banking sync isn’t that useful to me and until MoneyWiz supports Open Banking in the UK, it’s not something I’ll consider. That makes syncing a very expensive purchase or waiting a year to see what MW3 standalone brings (given the MW3 was 4 months behind its due date, a 2018 release seems unlikely). That said, the new crypto functionality might be useful to some. Perhaps MoneyWiz has moved on to a different market in the last few years and I’m just not in the demographic anymore.
Great program, but today (15/06/18) whenever I open it on my iPad it crashes straight away. It’s ok on my iPhone and Mac.
If premium was £10 - £20 per year I’d happily pay. £50 per year is outrageous really. However given the non syncing version for free is a massive thumbs up. Same it’s so expensive to sync. Not even iCloud cost this much.
I was looking forward to moneywiz 3. I have the Mac version and the mobile app - please do show me the new interface because I cannot see the “complete redesign”. Syncbits is still a pain by being so slow and there are duplicate entries every time I sync. Sorry but this is overall disappointing and a poor result, especially when v3 was announced for q1. Finally, it’s listed a new application and yet the ratings are mostly for v2. So this is misleading to the end-users. No I won’t renew.
I’ve been using the app in the past and I loved it but It’s a really shame sync requires subscription now. It would be really good if It comes back to how it was, free. Or at least 2 devices for free!!
Have been using MoneyWiz on iPhone and macbook since 2013 and have been really happy with the apps.
Disappointed to see that the latest update requires you to pay a subscription fee to be able to sync between devices which was never required before.
Given I’ve paid near £40 for the apps on multiple devices it doesn’t seem right to introduce a fee (another 40£ a year) for services that what previously available and were part of the reason for getting the apps.
This program is perfect for my home finances. I have several accounts and very easy to reconcile with my bank statements.
One small payment for life useage.
Also very helpful when you write to them.
This is one of the most useful apps we have on our iOS devices.
Long time users of the paid version of moneywiz 1 should be aware that updating will land you with the free version of moneywiz 2. Once you’ve done that, there is no going back - all other devices must also be updated or syncbits won’t work. The free version has ads which really hurt the app - they are distracting, use up valuable screen space and are so close to the text entry boxes that it is too easy to click on them and be flushed into an advertisers website.
The solution is simply to buy the paid version - but be aware that all account must be upgraded.
Once that is done, moneywiz 2 synchronises flawlessly as usual.
