Clear instructions and a very quick way to calm breathing. Like it
The original and best app to help you keep calm and get to sleep. The 4-7-8 method is a deep-breathing trick that can make insomniacs fall to sleep in less than a minute.
Ever have issues falling asleep? The 4-7-8 method is a deep-breathing trick that can make insomniacs drop off to sleep in less than a minute. It also combats stress/anxiety, acting as a natural tranquillizer for your nervous system. It takes just over a minute and can be done anywhere.
The exercise can be done in any comfortable position. It may feel awkward, to begin with, but for the entire exercise place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth, just behind your front teeth.
Before you start, breathe out completely through your mouth.
1. Tap "start" to start the counter.
2. Breathe in quietly through your nose for 4 seconds.
3. Hold your breath for 7 seconds.
4. Making a whoosh sound, breathe out through your mouth for 8 seconds.
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for four "cycles".
Practice at least twice a day. Set reminders to get into a routine. To help fall asleep, practice when you get in bed or if you wake in the night. If you're feeling stressed or feel like you need to settle your nerves, practice to get a "hit" of calm.
You may feel a little light headed when you begin. It will pass as you practice. After a month you may want to extend to 8 cycles.
Effects are subtle to begin but increase with repetition. It takes about 2 months of practice to get the best results.

Any form of stress-JUST BREATH!!
There was a delay after pressing the start button and the session commenced!
Upon pressing the button the breathing session starts immediately and feels rushed! trying to press button relax and breath at same time.
Otherwise 5 stars still great anyway 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
On advice from a therapist, used this at least twice a day since early in 2018 as seems to ease 'hyper alert' symptoms of chronic fatigue which is what it's supposed to do. Yes, sometimes the counting 'voices' get a bit confused. Also great for toning abdominal muscles if done 3 or 4 times a day. Highly recommended for anyone when they feel overwhelmed.
Does what it says on the tin
Brilliant app. Simple, easy to use, would recommend.
Really good app that takes simple method of calming down and makes it super easy to follow - doesn’t require a lot of time or effort, but is an easy way to calm down wherever you might be.
Such a good breathing app I have heard of this breathing technique many times and haven't got it but I've recently found this app and it's so easy because it takes your mind off counting thanks to the timer! I have had such good night's sleep and I am wide awake in the morning ready and prepared for school instead of tired and sluggish thanks to this app! Keep up the fantastic work
Perfect app. Simple and effective. The reminders keep you doing the sessions each day. Love it!
My iPhone is set to correct date and time but this app's log has me a day ahead of myself and I can't figure out why! Have messaged the developer but no response. Otherwise good so far.
Been a week now and it's really starting to help me relax before going to sleep. Gets better the longer you do it and makes the 4-7-8 method much easier as you don't have to think about the counting yourself. Strangely enough, it makes my legs feel funny, but in a nice way 😂
Quick and easy to do only takes a couple of minutes to practice each dat
This app is fantastic, so simple and easy to use, I find the technique really helps my anxiety
This is a great app all round. The log diary, automatic is great. More apps please!
Exactly what I needed. Really helpful app 👍
I don't usually write reviews but thought this deserved one. I recently heard about this breathing technique and thought I'd give it a go. I downloaded a few apps but this one was much better, the voice guidance is really helpful and the 2 reminders to carry out the practice each day is very handy. I'm on day 3 and haven't noticed any difference yet but it takes time. My lungs must be pretty good as I don't get light headed or dizzy.
Hopefully with practise this breathing technique will help with my social anxiety and insomnia
