Latest app update today... still same, no notifications- or hours late then hundreds at once, no live view, activity zone not working, unable to change/save settings. Also seems unable to recognise humans- cats or cars going by set it off but postie or deliveries go unnoticed and they walk right across it - yet no motion triggered!! Strong WiFi connected to camera and module and still not working correctly. Pretty useless as home monitor and completely unreliable app. Get it sorted considering the expensive camera I expect the app to at least work properly.

Easy to use so user friendly
Just one thing when you looking at the motion and recorded on the cloud theirs a static noise when closing the app just worried it damage my iPhone speaker
Just updated to latest download and the what’s new section is faulty.
The icon just keeps spinning but there is nothing there ?
Having viewed the recordings on my iPad and then going to my iPhone all the viewed clips are showing as unviewed.
Only way to resolve is to log out then back in.
There is no date and time stamp on the video footage, which could compromise a case in court. This is a MASSIVE oversight on security cameras.
Since a recent update, there is a significant delay on some notifications. I’m out and about and receive a notification of activity at the front door. I look at the app, only to find it was me leaving the house almost an hour ago. This doesn't exactly inspire confidence that I'll be notified in a timely manner if someone is breaking into my home or my car.
Having the video controls on the video screen is confusing. It was easier to use before.
Everything else is great.
Blink needs to be integrated into routines section of the Alaxa app the same way the ring door bell is...For instance if my ring door bell detects motion between midnight and 6am Alexa switches all my lights on downstairs for 10 mins as a deterrent..
Would be great if the blink outdoor cameras could do the same in Alexa routines...as your all amazons companies 😉😉😉
Working well so far. Sometimes the notifications are delayed but it might be a WiFi issue.
Change the rating from 5 to one star because the notifications have become unreliable, sometimes taking up to 40Min to arrive.. and now today I’m receiving notifications 2 hrs after the event.. which is useless for a security camera.....
5 Star rating was .. I have two systems running one at home and one on my boat that’s connecting through a 4G router, cameras work really well, the app occasionally crashes but there seems to be a significant bug... on an iPhone when the app gets updated (automatic App Store updates turned on) the app freezes and the background app refresh stops working.. the notification count freezes as well.. you don’t realise this until you notice that you have had no alerts or you open the app..
Got them cheap otherwise I would have been very disappointed. I think the software is pretty poor and isn’t worthy of Amazon acquisition. As a software developer myself I don’t think the software is fit really for purpose. Shame - much better unbranded camera systems out there from Chinese companies who run rings around this!
Notifications now taking 30-40 mins to come through. Clips sometimes not recording. All batteries/cameras/internet fine. System pretty much useless at the moment for me.
Camera are ok, a part from the fact that sensors indicate hight temp
Battery life, I checked and one has required changing battery (?)
App need a refresh
Why I have to use IFTT to arm/disarm the cameras when in or out home?
It should be a inclusive feature!
Update: camera madness
I cannot disconnect the app and I have received hundreds of notifications
I have just purchased the XT2 2 days ago and installed the app which was updated on 27/07/19 but now it has been crashing on live view. Please help to fix. The app is installed in iOS 12.3.1
Easy to use. Notifications are quick even when I’m at work or out the country
Perfect and worth every penny for own piece of mind when away
Since they started messing about with the ring and blink apps they have managed to turn 2 functional apps in to apps that constantly malfunction and require deleting, reinstalling and restarting of iPhone X, these instructions were eventually given by ring support after seemingly not knowing about the problems they’ve caused. No one seems willing or able to do anything about it. Had blink for 2 years and never had a problem since this recently.
Is there any chance of once enabling motion detection that you can incorporate a timer facility that can switch all cameras on our systems to start detection & stop detection at specified times. As the ring app does. Thus being able to abandon ring & concentrating on using the blink system
Update 19 hours has stopped cameras from arming and disarming. Great no working security cameras now. Don’t they test updates before they release?
The sync module drops out overnight for some reason.
Seems to have signal etc.
No problem with previous version.
Seemed to reboot itself the next morning?
Any advice Please?
When trying to connect to a wif I network, it gives me wrong password but the password I enter is correct. I think the problem might be because to connect to my network it requires to open a webpage where you sign in another password.
Why have we still got updates that link through to features only available in the US (Ring issue being the latest)? Really thought the Amazon takeover would have sorted this behaviour. Sorry, I mean behavior.
It used to have a slick Ui. Now a top third of my iPhone SE is covered by a pane showing a USA map, that brings me to a ring website that brings me to the App Store to download an app only available is USA. MAJOR UI SNAFU #CF. Fix it.
Why are we now getting advertising within the app for a Ring community app that doesn’t exist on the UK App Store?
When activity zone will be again to use in app ?
Used to work fine, until these latest updates, but is now useless. No longer compatible with less than Mac10.3, which instantly rules most of us with iPad 3s. I understand the desire to support new stuff, but cutting off large chunks of your pre-established users without warning is a poor customer relations gaff. I now have 7 cameras and two hub units which I cannot use any more. Thanks for nothing.
Good app and fairly easy to find your way round to set things up. I’ll apologise now if I’ve missed it but the only thing stopping me give it 5 stars is the scheduling. Great if you want all your cameras on and off at various times during the week, not so good if you want to schedule individual cameras at different times. If it can be done please put it in a update and with pleasure I’d willingly update my review.
One caveat: why can’t you change to Celsius (and make it stick) in the manage account section of the app.
I’ve the past 4 months, two important and very useful updates, including the ability to select active zones on the camera view so the camera is only triggered if there is activity within a particular area of the view (very useful because in the past passing cars in the street would activate the camera which was annoying)
The other recent useful update has been organising the recorded videos into, today, this week, this month etc.
Thank you for continuing to update the app and the camera software and making it better!
Complicated, fiddly, difficult to use. Bring back the old style !
Absolutely agree with Westwood, your GUI/UX developers should be sacked...now an appalling interface to view your video, and why oh why would you grey out the video when you need to quick scan the video with the timeline slider...just updates for the sake of updates. Go back to the drawing board and develop it seriously. Activity zones useless after dark, the only saving grace Is improvements in the sensitivity.
Since the latest update I have issues with live View not working intermittently on a variety of different cameras
One camera completely lost sync
All whilst I’m away from home so really worried I can’t sort
System needs a remote reboot facility as well as an upgrade allowing for ongoing review and looking back - CLEVER DOG camera is much better and considering the cost of the blink system I’m feeling really let down
When the app the server, cameras and connector all work it’s an ok temporary system. However to frequently, one of the above does not, which makes it a waste of time and money.
Who ever designed this app needs to look at design and usability. Rolled back to the last version as at least it was vaguely usable.
Blink has convinced me to start the process of moving to a better system.
Before update - when changing sensitivity, which is at least two times a day on a sunny day, you change it and just return to last screen and system does the job on background so you can do other things without having to wait;
After update - you have to wait until the change is actually done, which could take tens of seconds.
And seriously, whoever designed the new UI should be fired, did you even try it yourself before rolling it out? All the controls are now ON the actual footage, so you can’t see anything when you use the slider; you have to click on footage, click on pause and then click on footage again just to pause the video and can actually see things; and seriously, who put the share button on the footage?
Previous clip view app functionality was great, but this new combination clip view is awful, not only does it look cluttered but it also affects the users hand interface by forcing you to stretch your thumb higher up the screen to select another clip after you have deleted a previous video clip i.e. the list view is reset so that the next clip you want to view (which was easily accessible with your thumb before) is now reset higher up the view list so you have to unnecessarily stretch your thumb again to reach and select it. Please return to the previous clip format.
Wrote a review, praising the units but criticising battery life. As the unit failed to work even without batteries but plugged in via micro usb, suspect faulty unit, but customer support questioned nothing regarding my experience other than to apologise and immediately sent me a replacement unit. No questions asked. New unit just arrived and works perfectly.
Thank you for your excellent support and service which is a lesson to others.
Nothing but praise.
Great system but would be nice to have a choice for longer intervals when looking at live feed rather than having to press continue so often.
Constant errors! Often no notifications or saved files even when cameras have been tripped. Worked well for the first month. Ever since it’s been nothing but unreliable. Poor update/software maybe :(
Needs widget so that system can be armed and disarmed without unlocking device.
Have to delete and reinstall quite frequently to sort the problem of recorded videos not loading. Once reinstalled, the app plays back saved videos fine. For a while. 🤨
Needs to be updated for the iPhone XS Max. Full screen please.
Have one at home and one at my office. Problem is giving work colleagues access to the office system means they have access to my home system. The only way round this is to have separate accounts but then I cannot monitor both on one device.
1) IFTTT integration needs the ability to arm / disarm individual cameras as a trigger - this would be perfect.
2) IFTTT integration needs the ability to send pass picture / video to an event. (So we could send a picture to email for example)
3) IFTTT triggers on any temperature change. (We could then pass the temp to an event such as home automation systems)
4) Ability to save clips to other places like Dropbox / onedrive instead of on Blink storage. (So many uses such as using the clips as my computer desktop / screen saver)
I keep on getting Live feed failed message since I installed the last ios app version on 26 October 2018. Please help or Answer me directly.
Missing essential features, Blink accounts should have the option for 2 step verification.
Also, another essential feature is missing, no geo-based activation.
Don’t do the 9th October update..nowt works anymore..Been working great before this crap update..if it’s not broke then don’t touch it🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Run blink for a year now and I still like the system despite having 1 camera break in me and amazon replacing it. App is ok, but could be better e.g can’t take stills, can’t flag videos not to delete, can’t draw zones to monitor for movement. Plus being you are not paying monthly subscriptions though.
Dinosaur US metrics, and no option to change them.
The app is slow, crashes all the time
Would be really good if you could rotate the camera feed so it displays portrait. Have rotated one or two of my cameras to better show the room it is placed in and film a portrait shot, but it is a pain to have to rotate the phone and try to beat the annoying auto rotate feature in order to view it properly. How about a simple rotate camera 90 degrees portrait or landscape view in the app please? Would be 5 stars if that feature added. Thanks!
I own 5x Blink XT system, and will be super honest on this review. Better quality then Arlo Pro who cost double (maybe Arlo Pro 2 is improved haven’t check that yet), but inferior to Logitech Circle 2 (ordered 2 last week). Blink It’s a reliable system that doesn’t crash like chinese wifi cams, better then my Arlo Pro that i’ve sold now on eBay. Still need to learn from logitech. Cannot stream continuously live (like Logitech, to keep an eyes of your children playing in other room while you work on computer, and cannot sow all cameras simultaneously in screen). For me Logitech Circle 2 is a winner, still keep Blink system for my love to Amazon and it’s great customer service and hope they will unlock this features on new software update. P.S. do yourself a favour and wire all Blink (micro usb cables and any wall phone charger will do, 1A 5V). Take care.
Recent update led me to have to remove and re-install app. I wasn’t able to see my cameras anymore and the account showing as associated with the app is some random name.
Much better now with iPad support — and it fully works in both landscape and portrait. It would be better still if the iPhone app also supported both orientations properly so I didn’t have to flip my phone back and forth when watching clips.
Also, can I please request the ability to reorder the cameras on the home screen?
