Description
An app for quickly downloading MEteorological Terminal Area Report (METAR) and Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF) airport data from the internet. The METAR and TAF data is displayed in encoded format. Airport station identifiers should be specified in ICAO format.
Data for this app is downloaded from United States aviationweather.gov data servers.
A optional experimental METAR icon that graphically shows ceiling and visibility. The icon was designed by a former NASA researcher. The top section of the icon indicates ceiling and the lower section indicated visibility.
This is an ad-free app for obtaining METAR and TAF data.
Known Limitations (Bugs):
- Clicking on the "update" button more than once may cause the data to not display; workaround, only click the "update" button once.
- Experimental Metar icon may only work for US airports as other countries may have a non-standard METAR format.

- validate airport identifier from know good list
